“Great hotel if you're after a luxurious stay in Dublin”
Reviewed May 10, 2010

Great hotel located close to the Castle. It's not right in the middle of the action, so you do have to walk places, but not far and it's location means that it's nice and quiet but with in easy reach of everything you need. We upgraded and had a luxury suite, it was brilliant, huge bed, massive TV, sofa, TV in the bathroom, large bath, very luxurious. We had access to a terrace with our room and the views from here are amazing. The bar and restaurant were nice too and the staff were all friendly.

I stayed in this hotel for four nights in May 2010 as I was attending a conference in Dublin. There was nothing in this hotel I didn't like, and I'm fussy. It's convenient to the city centre and especially to the two cathedrals, Dublin Castle and Temple Bar. Good breakfast. Excellent bar staff. The restaurant in the evening is French brasserie - excellent food and good wine list. Staff were friendly and helpful. My room was very very clean and comfortable and had an excellent view of the city centre and of Howth in the distance on the edge of Dublin Bay.

We had the pleasure of spending a night in the Radisson Blu in Golden Lane in Dublin on Saturday night. We parked in the underground car park and made our way to reception, with a beautiful glass front. Checked in and headed to our room - a beautiful room with a balcony on the 6th floor over looking Dublin City. The room was very big, luxurious and really comfy! We arrived late so decided to have a meal in the hotel's restuarant. Its a French Restaurant - Verres en Vers. The menu was great, loads of choice and the meal was absolutely delicious! I had a lovely soak in the bath, while watching tv and a great night's undisturbed sleep in the huge bed. Breakfast was amazing! It was probably the best buffet breakfast i have ever experienced; the variety of fruits, pattessiere etc was unbelievable. Over all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Radisson Blu. We will definitely go back!

Went to this hotel with my partner and absolutely loved it!
Would choose same hotel when going to Dublin again.
It is perfect for both business and pleasure.

Positive:
Great location - close to shopping and Temple Bar but still extremely quiet rooms
The best breakfast buffet I have had (and I travel close to 200 days a year)
Very nice rooms
Free wifi

Negative:
A bit anonymous staff (but normal for a large hotel with a short stay)

For the price we paid per night at this hotel I expected more. Pretty much there are no amenities for this hotel. If you want a gym or pool you will need to leave the hotel to find the gym they have partnered up with. The beds/sheets were awful. Beds were very hard and sheets felt like less than 100 thread count. To make it worse, the pillows gave you absolutely no support, so you may as well have slept on a hard floor. The staff was ok but very hard to understand as the couple I spoke to had very thick French accents and when checking out they didn't understand what room number I said and tried to charge us for room 121 when we stayed in room 120....that WAS resolved once the communication barrier was fixed. We were on the first floor and every other floor you needed to insert your room key in the elevator for it to operate...so maybe they gave us the "bad floor". Also, any little peep you heard in the hallway was like it was right in your room...door slam hard, etc. Maybe other floors are better, but my expeience here was not good. Only good thing I have to say about it is that is was in a very convenient location to most things downtown Dublin.
