“Hidden gem in the centre of Dublin”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

This was my first trip to Dublin and I was really pleased with the hotel. It's ideally located for transport, shops and restaurants. The rooms are large and modern and the breakfast was made to order - staff go out of their way to make anything you like which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Request for your room to be cleaned whilst you're out (house keeping can come anywhere from 9am...

The hotel is very central - a short walk from the parliament, Chester Beatty library, cathedral, castle and Trinity College and the buzzing Temple Bar area. Rooms are a good size and comfortable; reception staff are very friendly and helpful; ice is available in the lift lobbies. The breakfast is amazing; a vast choice of delicious, fresh, local hot and cold foods with great service too. The price was very good for Dublin too; I'll definitely choose it again.

We only stayed here overnight, but they certainly made a good impression. We were greeted warmly at reception, which was quickly done, and upgraded to a business class room.
After staying in several older, more traditional places, the modern amenities were really appreciated. I wanted to hug the free Wi-Fi! The beds were comfy, the bathroom large, water and candy were provided and the river view from the window was lovely. Their breakfast buffet was very good, too.
It's a walkable distance from the town's restaurants and tourist areas.
I recommended this hotel to friends who are going there this summer.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the river.

We spent 2 nights at the hotel and had dinner at the V'n V Restaurant one evening. Staff at check in / out were great, although when there are a lot of people in the reception area, the acoustics make it difficult to hear the more soft spoken staff behind the desk. Our room was located on the first floor, although we would have preferred a room on a higher floor as there was some noise from people outside. The room was very nice, although the dark decor absorbed a lot of the light. Even though there were ample lights and lamps, it was still dark. The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable. The separate bath and shower were lovely, although there were some issues with function, such as the handheld shower being very difficult to shut off (having to pull out a small knob with wet hands). It was not possible place a towel on the floor when stepping out of the shower as the shower door is flush with the floor. To avoid stepping out onto tiles with wet slippery feet, I had to place the towel around the corner and pull it to towards me with my foot after I opened the shower door. The location was ideal. Not too close to the city centre noise but still within walking distance to all the sights. We had dinner at V'n V Restaurant and the food and service were excellent. Ewa, in particular, was very friendly and knew a lot about the dishes. Her attention and friendliness made the dinner that much more special. The restaurant is nicely decorated but in contrast to the dark rooms, this place had too much light. It wasn't possible to dim the lights, which is a shame as less light would have enhanced the dinner ambiance. The hotel is beautifully decorated and staff are all friendly and efficient. The location is ideal. We will stay here again the next time we are in Dublin.

We stayed here in the spring, and were upgraded to Business Class rooms. Convenient to walk to everything, and not far from the hop-on-hop-off stop. The front desk was willing to put a number of tickets on our room bill (which got us ClubCarlson points for them!) which was nice.

The breakfast was spectacular. Just as a European breakfast should be. The lunch at the bar in the middle of the day was something we could have skipped, however.

Not as convenient location-wise as the Westin downtown, but still not much of a walk. For the price (even with points), it was a great deal.

A few blocks from action, the Radisson Blu makes up for it with beautifully appointed rooms and bathrooms. The rooms are a good size and look to be recently updated. The breakfast, which is 15 euros, is plentiful and delicious. Come hungry. When we asked for something extra (a card table and four chairs brought to our room) they came through quickly and without complaint. One small frustration. Since you can't plug in a hair dryer in the bathroom, you need to use it out in the room. The plug in was near the mirror, but so low, you couldn't reach the top of your head. As I said, a small thing:)

Room Tip: Ask to be away from the neon sign in the front and not on the first floor - there you look out on sm...

Great location close to St Patricks and a stop for the hop on and off bus. Also walking distance to Dublin Castle, Temple Bar and shopping areas.
Rooms were very nice- great showers- deep baths which I sadly did t have time to enjoy.
Excellent breakfast buffet, enjoyed dinner at the bar late one night and the food there was great too. Great device from the staff
