Great hotel, would recommend to anyone. Good value for money. Modern rooms with lovely bathrooms. The breakfast is included in the restaurant next door and you can choose anything from the menu, the irish breakfast was good! We left before breakfast on the last day and they provided a takeaway breakfast of fruit, drink and a scone or sandwich. Close to all the bus routes and they were really happy to let us leave our bags despite our room not being ready yet. Great staff who were always more than happy to help! Would stay here again

Just returned from at great short break in Dublin with friends. The Kingfisher Townhouse was the perfect place to stay. The rooms are small but spotlessly clean, the staff wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served in the fish restaurant below the rooms and was excellent. Again the staff are wonderful, nothing too much trouble. We will be staying again when we next visit Dublin.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 5 and 10. Room 5 was a little bigger and had a queen sized bed. A hike up to the t...

Stayed one night with my family of 8. We were leaving the next day, early for home. We wanted to see as much as we could of Dublin that day. The Inn was close to the hop on- hop off bus. We arrived early and one of our rooms was available so we could drop off our luggage. The woman at the reception desk was very helpful because we also had a van to park. I had made reservation with them to park our car when I had made our room reservations. The rooms were comfortable and clean. There is no elevator and the stairs are narrow because it is a smaller hotel. We were leaving early the nexy day and would not be able to make breakfast but they packed us a take along bag with fruit, muffin and drink for all of us. It work out very well. They made our stay very comfortable and easy.

The staff really went above and beyond with helping us sort out the details of our trip. We arrived with literally no idea about what we wanted to do and the man at the front desk even let us use his personal cell phone to call car companies for rentals. The location is excellent—you can walk everywhere—and the rooms are basic but nice. I would suggest this to any of my friends.

Firstly I would like to highlight the positives. The Kingfisher Townhouse is located a few minutes walk away from O'Connell Street and the main shopping area of Dublin. The LUAS tram line is about a five minute walk away.

The rooms are immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast is fantastic.

Now the bad points.....

The man who checked us in was miserable. There is no lift and access to the rooms (over three floors) is by stairs. We struggled up the stairs with our suitcases - but there was no offer of any help.

As far as I could tell there was only one exit / entrance from the hotel. This was through reception. The Fire Notices in the room said that the emergency exit was down the stairs or follow the "Emergency Exit" signs. There weren't any. If a fire had have started in reception we would have been trapped in our rooms. There was no other was out. If there was it was not signposted.

Breakfast is at the Kingfisher restaurant next door. The staff there were fantastic. However, we needed a voucher from the hotel for breakfast. We never had this (nor were we told about it. Surely, when you check-in for B&B this should be explained and a voucher given to you at that time ?

The shower-room was small. My chin was on the sink whilst sat on the toilet. The shower cubicle is small. Whilst having a shower I felt like I was "drowning" as the powerful water flow could not be directed away far enough in the confined space.

The original window catches had fallen off and had been replaced by others. These didn't close the window properly and the noise from the road outside continued all night.

At check-out I was quoted a price in Euros and tendered a Credit Card. When I went to enter my PIN number I noticed that it was quoting a price in British Pounds. All of the con / scam / money saving advice is to always pay in the local currency. If you allow the merchant to convert the currency you will get a bad exchange rate.
I queried this and was told that it was a quirk of the new Chip & Pin machines he had just had installed. I was advised that the machine detects your cards nationality and processes payment in that currency. As a result I reckon I was charged 5% more than I should have been.

On the surface, the Kingfisher Townhouse is a really good, clean hotel but is let down by fire escapes, sharp practice and a miserable sloppy attitude by the member of staff who dealt with us

Stayed two nights in a threebed room. Is was small but sufficient. Just slept there. The bath was ok but could do with a bruch up. However the price is moore than reasonable fore this place. Easy walking distanse to the major sites of Dublin.
Will definatly stay there if we go back to Dublin

Nice friendly staff in both the hotel and restaurant. Very nice breakfast. We were looked after for the whole of our stay. Would recommend the Kingfisher to anyone visiting Dublin. It was in an ideal location to walk into the city centre and see all the sites. Free wifi available.
