“Very good and welcoming”

Good continental breakfast, very welcoming. Nice rooms. Central location, all buses pass in front of the guest house. Tourist information centre is also nearby. I would like to thank all the friendly staff.

TIP: If you plan to use the bus more than 7 times in 3 days than buy the 3 day ticket which is €11.

This guest house is really more like a cosy, friendly hotel.
Great value, great service, great breakfast included.
It is a very well kept, Georgian town house, in a good location near the canal, not too far from St Stephens Green and the centre.
We walked into town easily, about 20 minutes or so.
Reception staff were superstars. Helpful, courteous, kind, informative and very welcoming. We found the car park a bit tricky to locate (arriving late), but reception would have guided us in by phone, if necessary.
The room was terrific. Set on a corner with lovely floor to ceiling windows on both aspects with a view over the canal. The bed was very comfortable and to our surprise a sparkling fully fitted kitchen, complete with cooker, microwave, washer, dryer and large fridge. Wow, is what we kept saying. "This is a guest house?" Flat screen tv, tea & coffee facilities in the dining area, biscuits & Irish choccies on the pillows. Highly recommend you stay here whenever in Dublin. We certainly will.

We stayed here with another couple. All in all, it's good value for money. The rooms were clean, bed sheets crisp and clean, fluffly clean towels, bathroom sparkled and only had minimal mold on the bottom of the shower curtain, good breakfast. The location was ok, but not in the city center. A brisk 10-15 minute walk gets you to Trinity College.

Our friends' room was GREAT - pretty large, had a little kitchenette and a little balcony with a pretty view. Most importantly, their room faced the back of the building, so it was quiet. Our room was a decent size, but faced the front of the building overlooking Leeson Street = super noisy all night long, especially since the room was boiling hot and we had to leave the window open. I didn't sleep at all!

The staff was very helpful and friendly.

I would go back again, only if I got a room facing the back of the building!

The cleanliness and comfy linens on the bed made up for the tiny, tiny room. (There was barely room to walk around the bed or open the closet) Breakfast in the morning consisted of a nice breakfast bar. The location is OK, not great - it's about a 15 to 20 minute walk from the main sites in Dublin.

One of the most frustrating aspects was the staff. Although they were nice, none of them really knew the area and they weren't able to give us any help other than the memorized information they'd been taught.

My son & I travelled with my 79 yr old mother & this location could not have been better. The staff were very courteous & exceptionally helpful in accommodating my mother on the ground floor, with her breakfast or when we had to leave her alone to pick up the rental car. Though we arrived early they made sure she got a room to rest in & even arranged extra time on check-out day. The rooms were very clean & the beds comfortable.
It is located in a quiet neighborhood but only a 15 mins walk to main shopping/tourist area of Grafton St & the Suffolk St ?Tourist Info centre. There are a 3 small cafe/restaurants close by & for more selection Baggot street is a 10 miin walk along the canal.
This is not family run, but the staff are as welcoming as native countrymen.

I have stayed in Dublin many times (my da was a Dub) and always found the hotels & guesthouse to be very overpriced and to be honest you don't really get very much for your money.

The Leeson Bridge Guesthouse was an exception - my euro's went a very long way and the service was second to none. Basically i got the bargain of the year (in Dublin accomadation terms).

I Paid 50 euro for my 1 night stay - this was for a double room without breakfast - prior to my stay at the Leeson Bridge the cheapest i had ever managed to get a double room in dublin was 69 euro and it was'nt a very good one either!

Location, Location, Location - 5 mins to stephens green, 10 to grafton st - brilliant bus services. great place to stay.

Check in was faultless - friendly smiling receptionist, lovely clean bright exterior to the building, well decorated interior hall way, nice atmosphere, paid cash on arrival and room allocated swiftly. I got what i paid for and a 100% more than i could ever have expected.
We where shown to our room for which the receptionist had to take us out of the main building towards the extension to the side of the property. We where then given keys to the side entrance door (felt like a home from home) seperate key to our bedroom and bathroom. Whe we entered the building it was pretty spectacular - chandeliers, antique furniture, georgian decoration and the most incredible marble floored hallway. I knew then that we had landed on our feet! The receptionist opened our door to our bedroom and we had a gorgeus cosy room with huge double bed, great modern aztec style wooden furniture , big bright window overlooking the Canal and busy streets - an added bonus was the coal fire effect gas fire with mantlepiece, cd player, sattelite tv and Tea & coffee facilitys! It was really lovely - some may have not liked this ground floor room tho due to its proximity to the main road and slight traffic noise but it didnt bother us and in fact it was great people watching whilst sitting on your bed with a hot mug of chocaltate in ya hand!! great fun ......plus we had a fox sitting on the pavement just across the road by the canal - amazing watching him just sitting there cleaning his paws!! It felt like you where in the country yet you where in a very busy city.

Then the receptionist opened our bathroom and i nearly choked - we had a walk in wetroom as modern and funky as you would get in any 5 star hotel and unbelievably a steam cabin with multi jet power shower! My jaw actaully dropped! Then it got even better - the receptionist opened another dooor and said this is the kitchen you can use this anytime you want - It was the biggest most gorgeus kitchen i have ever seen in my life! granite work surfaces, american style fridge, washing machine, dish washer, etc etc . You could have thrown a dinner party in there for 12 + people it was that big - superbly fitted out with no expense spared - i actually burst out laughing with the shock of it all! I stopped laughing when i noticed the double doors out to a magnificent garden tho - i really thought then that it was a wind up and saomeone was going to jump out with a hidden camera and say" fooled you " your rooms really that shed in the corner" Honestly folks it was as far as im concerned - A champagne lifestyle for lemonade money!

A real measure of its quality was my cousin (A dub & local Builder) arriving to pick us up to go out for a curry and showing him around the rooms. He very quietly inspected the work turned to us and said" this is class - even the doors are quality - they hav'nt scimped on anything" and he should know. He reckoned the doors alone wher 300 euro plus each!

You literally had to peel the mattress off me & my partners backs the next morning as we where so snug & comfy - it felt like our house - getting up, lighting the fire, puttin the telly on, pottering round the kitchen etc etc. Made our own brekky ...

We didnt want to leave. The only thing you have to watch on the groound floor is having seperate bathroom & bedroom meant i wandered into the hallway 6am in the morning, went for my wee, opened the toilet door and was faced by 2 cheeky builders with the thumbs up thru the hallway window - they where in a transit van at the lights and could see into the hallway thru the window - me standing red faced in my nighty! was quite funny tho could only happen in Dublin - so dont forget to close the hall curtains of a night ....or you too could have an irish interlude like mine!

Me & My partner loved every minute of it and we are determined to go back. At the right price tho - mind you even if i had paid full rate you couldnt fault the place.

I loved the leeson bridge - how can you tell?

We stayed only one night as this was a flying visit to Dublin to meet up with American friends who were en-route to Italy.

The guesthouse is located in St. Stephens and is within very easy walking distance to everything in the south-east district of the city. The Air Coach from the airport stops right outside ,which is a bonus.

Our room was at the top of the house (there is a lift) and was spacious and very clean with an en-suite 'wet room'. Behind another door we discovered a fully equipped kitchen - which is great if you are staying longer. There was tea, coffee and biscuits provided as well as an in-room iron and hairdryer. The room was double glazed, so although the road outside was fairly busy, if did not bother us at all. (However, as we live in London, we did not consider the road 'busy')

Breakfast was lovely. It is continental style, but you can have toast, toasted bagels, tea and coffee all freshly prepared for you. There was also a choice of cold cuts, cheese and eggs, with Danish pastries and muffins as well as a good selection of cereals, cold milk and fruit juices.

The staff were all very friendly, helpful and polite. We would certainly consider staying at The Leeson Bridge Guesthouse on our next trip to Dublin.
