“Very Cheap for a Clean, Central Location”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Myself and my husband stayed in one of the private double rooms with ensuite. We don't usually stay in hostels, but hotels in central Dublin which are close to Temple Bar are ridiculously expensive and we figured we weren't going to Dublin to sit in our hotel room all day! The room was away from the hustle and bustle of the main part of the hostel and it was pretty quiet. The room was small, there's no getting away from that, but it was clean and that's what matters most to us. Theres no tv, no toiletries and no hair dryer. Again, didnt care about the tv, we just wanted a base which was close to the nightlife, so we took toiletries and hair dryer anyway. Was pleasantly surprised that they provide clean towels everyday, the bathroom is narrow and small with some cracked tiles etc, but again, cleanliness is very good. You leave the hostel and you're right out into the action, and with the amount of walking we did in Temple Bar, we were happy to just have to stroll back to our bed of an evening! The hostel is close to tourist bus routes and airport transfer stops as well as plenty of cheapest restaurants. Dublin is expensive, but the amazing music available for free in every pub makes the price of a pint very reasonable! All in all, I would stay in the hostel again, they were very helpful with storing our luggage before check-in (2.30pm) on arrival and the money we saved by not staying in a stupidly priced hotel was spent on some amazing experiences instead!

It is a good place to stay in because of the location and the incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Also it is affordable and I found it safe. Quiet, as much as a hostel can be expected to be. They seem to always have available places and the breakfast is quite good. However, if you plan to stay longer you might get a bit fed up with eating the same thing every day. :)
My only recommendation for them would be to pay a bit more attention to cleaning. But, all in all, it was a really good experience!

Room Tip: There is a book swap program ;)

Everyone was warm and helpful. They even had someone to do the dishes for you. Great location with a very short walk to Temple Bar with a great hostel feel for a good value. Several nice community areas to meet people and talk about your travels.

Room Tip: Try and not have a room that is on the north side as that is nosier. Also hope the person in your ro...

During my two night stay I wondered what was missing.....Nothing.
The staf is friendly, the rooms were quite ok (although it was a 12 persons dorm and not that ventilated), but the beds were of good quality and also important the atmosphere was really good. Very much young people and enough space to meet each other in one of the common rooms.
Certainly worth to visit when you want to visit Dublin!

We were 6 people, 3 in early 20's and three over 45's. We had a 6 room dormitory facing the front street. They were very willing to keep our luggage in a secure place until our rooms were ready. The beds, floors and bathroom were all very clean. The beds were comfortable and we slept fairly well. Our room at the front was not as close to some of the people traffic and the noise was less than anticipated from the hostel and from the street too. There was some breeze coming through the window.
The breakfast was unlimited toast and various cereals, coffee, tea, juice and milk. There were many kinds of jams and jellies available. The kitchen could be used to do your suppertime cooking.
They had several computers with internet in one of the rooms for those who wanted it. The free wifi only worked in some of the locations in the hostel but was fast enough there. There was no shortage of washrooms or showers on any of the floors.
The staff are helpful and pleasant. They seemed to care about our comfort and experiences. The location is perfect. Easy to get to and from the airport by using one of the airport buses. And right on the route of the Hop-onHop-off buses. Very close to all kinds of amenities and attractions and great to stroll around in the evening. Not far from currency exchange.
We were here ten years ago and wanted to come back to it.
It is not a hotel, but a hostel, and a very good one. Would go back a third time if we are ever back in Dublin.

We were 6 of us (age range: 3 to 36) and had booked an ensuite dorm. Had a lovely time, all attractions and eateries we wanted to go to were close by. The HOHO bus stop is a few steps away from the hostel, so is the H'penny bridge. Good stay at a reasonable price. Book your car parking spaces early as they tend to get booked out.
