The Glen Guesthouse

Stayed here for 2 nights with my father as we were traveling across Ireland for a family ancestory adventure. Great location from the City Centre with a bus stop to Dublin Int'l Airport right outside the front door.

Room was comfortable, clean and relatively quiet (except for Dublin traffic / sirens, but close the blinds and you'll be just fine). Showers had plenty of water pressure and plenty of hot water as well. Breakfast was good, but nothing spectacular - still a great way to start off your day adventuring around the city.

Staff is courteous and friendly with excellent knowledge of the city's to-dos and how to get around the city.

My only recommendation for the Glen Guesthouse? Perhaps consider making guests present ID when requesting their room key after they are out and about on the town; that little bit of extra security would be nice.

Overall, great stay at the Guesthouse - can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: Although I didn't have Wi-Fi problems, be sure to request a room that gets a good signal; staff...

Good location. For safety conditions, they ask you to leave at front desk your key room before you go out. The breakfast is included and is good. There's a computer at the common area but it didn't work.

We found this guest house on Hotels.com and chose it because of it's close proximity to the City centre. It may be a little ragged around the edges but it was clean, warm and comfortable. The Night Manager needs to improve his customer service. The breakfast was more than adequate and offered a full Irish or continental. All in all, a very enjoyable stay. Thank you, Omar

The stuff was nice and we could ask anything. They were here to answer any question. The bedroom was really clean, big and comfortable. We appreciated the tea and coffe in the room. If we go back to Dublin, we will take a bedroom again in this hotel.

Lovely shower with tons of hot water, a springy, old matress, thin and a bit weird cheapo hotel bed cover, ok servitude, no WIFI in the Rooms, daily cleaning makes this a mixed bag. Combine it with a good location, nice price (if you reserve on their website) and you still might want to choose this one.
rooms on top floors might be close to elevator and you can hear this (and your neighbours very well)

Two of us visited here for two nights. It wasnt awful but at the same time is wasnt amazing, however like anywhere this is reflected in the price (which was perfect for what we needed) 30 minute bus ride from the airport (local bus - not tourist bus , number 41) a 2 minute walk from the stop we were dropped at so very convenient .
Check in was irritable . Our room wasn't ready so we left our bags in the very small, insecure reception area. It wasn't a problem for us to have a wander about. On return the lady in reception did not have a scooby doo . Couldn't use the card machine (I had to practically process my own transaction) didn't really understand much English but we eventually got to our room.
A little small and dated but had what we needed - a bed and shower, I can't really be picky because it was cheap . Tv worked fine, shower was warm, bed was bouncy , no noise (except for what we were making apparently) only minuscule thing was there was not a mirror in the room (only in bathroom) and no plug in bathroom so had to style my hair with straighteners in
the reflection of the door.
Just make sure you lock your door behind you after you leave . We didn't realise until after we had left the door unlocked for 2 days !
Staff are ok, don't expect too much . Lots of tourist leaflets in reception so you can find your help from them.
Short walk to temple bar (if tired 6-8 euro taxi) can walk to Guinness storehouse and main clubbing street 20 minutes .
Can't comment on breakfast because I never made it early enough .
Room was cleaned while we were there .

When we first arrived the man at reception was not very helpful at all, when we asked him if he could please book us a taxi he just replied oh cant book taxi as there is a concert on, so me and my boyfriend went online and booked one ourselves quite easy. Besides his bad manners the other staff were very friendly and very helpful.

I noticed the carpet near reception had a few stains on it and we had to go outside in the cold into another part to get to our room, the room was small and basic but very clean. The shower took a while to heat up and there was what looked like a hole in the wall in the bathroom.

Breakfast however was really nice and all other staff were very nice and helpful.
