Stayed here for one night while on business in Dublin. The hotel is just a short walk into the city centre. The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. The bedrooms are a good size and well kept, the bathroom was a little tired, the paint of the ceiling above the bath was flaking off. Breakfast was ok, although we had a long wait for coffee to be served. Not a good hotel if you have a car as there is no on site parking.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 1st floor suffer from loud traffic noise.

Dear LindaMcc30,

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to highlight your stay in our hotel on Tripadvisor.

I was happy to read you enjoyed your stay and that you found the staff to be helpful.

I appreciate your comments about the paint in the room, maintenance is on-going and we are working through the entire hotel bedrooms to address these issues.

I am disappointed you had to wait for your coffee in the breakfast room, I have spoken to the team in the restaurant about the matter - it is an early we will focus on.

I hope we will get the pleasure of your company in the near future.

Best Personal Regards,

Very nice facility located within a short walking distance to many attractions. The staff is excellent, always taking time to assist guests. The food and beverage selection was top shelf. We would definitely stay here again! If you are arriving with a car make sure you talk to the staff about using Queen Parking and have your card validated by the hotel desk to get your discount parking rate.

On our second trip to Dublin, we wanted to be near Grafton Street and be able to walk everywhere. For value, O'Callaghan Stephen's Green Hotel turned out to be the perfect choice. It is -- as name suggests -- on the corner of St. Stephen's Green. It has a lovely breakfast room with a view, also a welcoming bar. The rooms were large and well-appointed, the staff friendly, and indeed it was within walking distance. We had a great late night meal at a tapas restaurant a block behind the hotel (a block away from the green), and were able to walk everywhere. At $171 a night, this was great value, and as enjoyable as the nearby but more expensive Fitzwilliam where we stayed on our last trip to Dublin.

This hotel is well situated to the city centre. Within walking distance to most tourist attractions and the Dublin Bike racks are right across the street, which is very convenient. The hotel itsel is nice enough. The rooms are big and the beds very comfy.

If I could suggest an improvement for the hotel it would be to put muslin/net curtains in the windows. We had a room on the 1st floor by the front and people could easily see in during the day if the curtains were open. I know you're thinking, close the curtains then...but during the day it would be nice ot have daylight and privacy. The bathroom is a bit tired too, but overall clean and practical.

Having booked a weekend away for my Husbands 50th Birthday, 3 days before we were due to fly out the Hotel I had booked (which I will not name) called to say they had double booked and we would not be able to stay, after looking around on the internet I came across O'Callaghans Stephen Green.
I am so glad the orginal Hotel Cancelled, I ws so happy with O'Callaghans. On Arrival at the hotel we were advised the room was not ready which was fine as it was only9.30am, we left out luggage with the friendly receptionist (Marie) and said we will check in later. Later in the day we checked in by Marie to be advised we had been upgraded to an executive room for our inconveince that the room was not ready earlier. This was a lovely touch by the hotel but was not necessary as we knew check in was 2pm. Great Hotel Stephen's Green across the road which is a lovely area to sit and relax, close to all bars, shops restaurants, bus stops Dublin Castle. Would like to Thank Marie for all her help guiding us around the city and providing map.
Great Hotel will be back to stay when we return to Dublin.

A friend and I stayed in the hotel for a night. On arrival and through out our stay we found all the staff welcoming and helpful. The Hotel is really very nice and our room was lovely, clean, big and had a great view. The location of the hotel is perfect, right on the luas line and across the road from St. Stephens Green. It is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, pubs, night clubs and many tourist attractions. I will definitely stay in the hotel again in the near future and will also be recommending the hotel to friends.

Stayed at this hotel on our first and last night of our recent 8 day touring trip to Ireland. The rooms were comfortable, fairly large with big beds and with adequate bathrooms. The staff were very helpful and the glass breakfast room overlooking Stephen's Green was pleasant and offered a nice, free breakfast. The bar, located off the other side of the hotel lobby, was also very pleasant. We had drinks there several times, but did not eat there.

The best aspect of the hotel was its location diagonally across the street from Stephen's Green and within easy walking distance of all the shops and pubs on Grafton Street, as well as Trinity College, Temple Bar and other attractions. Our hotel experience here was perfectly fine and for a good price.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The hotel comprises of two magnificently restored Georgian buildings, with a heritage of great historical and cultural importance to Ireland. One was home to the great Irish playwright, George Fitzmaurice, while 4 Harcourt Street was the birthplace of Lord Edward Carson, one of the founders of Northern Ireland and a central figure in Ireland’s Unionism movement. Entering through the tasteful reception area, guests will be struck by the stunning glass atrium, filling the lobby with natural light and overlooking the idyllic Stephen’s Green park. The stylish interior design throughout the hotel, with wood panelling and soft leather furnishings sitting alongside Georgian stucco ceilings and elegant fireplaces, beautifully showcases the fusion of old and new. George Fitzmaurice is honoured in the hotel through our bar and restaurant, which are named after two of his plays. The ‘Magic Glasses’ Bar is an opulent, comfortable bar where local businesspeople and visitors alike regularly meet over a coffee or drink, while the ‘Pie Dish’ Bistro, set in the bright atrium and the inner rooms of the Georgian houses, serves the finest in contemporary Irish and international cuisine. Located on the first floor, the Georgian library has a charming old-world feel, where you can sit in 19th century surrounds, featuring open fireplaces and chandeliers – an ideal way to unwind over a pre-dinner drink. A gymnasium is available for the exclusive use of residents, while the business centre is open 24 hours, with a secretarial service available for the business guest.
