“Would Definitely Return”

Great location, seconds away from the Luas and within short walking distance of Heuston Station and the city centre. Arrived pretty early but they were very accommodating and had no problem checking us in early. Room was clean and spacious and quiet (we had two young children so little noise was a must), great view from the large window although was a bit stuffy as there was only one very small window that could be opened and no AC . We arrived on the Sunday and so there was no food served in the hotel at all that day, but the Fresh Food Market right next door fixed that problem. Staff were great, very friendly. Would definitely return for our next trip to Dublin.

Excellent location close to Heuston train station, The LUAS and Dublin city centre. I arrived a bit early and the hotel had no problem accommodating me with an early check in. To my surprise and delight I had been up-graded to a suite. I had pre-paid for the room on line so I was not expecting this. The room was very quiet with two beds and a spacious balcony overlooking Smithfield Plaza. It had great views of Dublin city. My stay was brief, but I found the service level and general upkeep of the hotel excellent. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it. Five out of Five.

I admit that as an American I have certain expectations, but AC - even with mild weather - is a given. None and with air movement, if they had not volunteered a table fan, it would have been miserable. I might consider it convenient for a moderate price, but the bed was extremely hard. the room pics were not from this location, so don't be fooled. We do not recommend the buffet here, step next door to the grocery and coffee shop.

Dear Southern_born52

Thank you for taking the time to review us on Tripadvisor.

The Hotel does not have air condidtioning and 95% of the time this is not an issue as we don't get very warm weather in this country. This year was different and while the warm weather was very welcome, I can understand your fustration.

All photos posted by the hotel are from this hotel and are up to date so i would love to know what photos you are taking about

We found the Maldron - Smithfield to be good value for money for our overnight stay in Dublin. The room was very clean & quiet and we enjoyed a very nice and varied breakfast the next morning which was included at a reasonable price in our room rate.
Would definitely recommend and happily return. :)

A good hotel, everything was nice, clean and confortable.
We missed a bit not having a fridge in our room, but there was a keetle and free teas and coffees.
Also it would be nice to have a strongbox in room and to be able to regulate the heating (our room was quite hot), but those are minor issues.
The city centre is quite close, you can reach it in a 10-minutes walk (Temple Bar); the Guinness Storehouse is even closer, and the Jameson Distillery is on the opposite site of the square.
We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, as there are a supermarket and a couple nice coffee bars on Smithfield Plaza.
It would surely be our first choice for another stay in Dublin.

The hotel is conveniently located, close to the city center, but if one doesn't feel like walking, efficient public transport is very near.
the room was big, clean and comfortable, but the mattress of the double bed was not very good. We informed the reception next day and they just changed it!!!
Very good and efficient service.

We booked 5 nights on this hotel, and one thing that we loved was the location. With a tram station nearby, and within walking distance from the city centre (temple bar, per ex.) it is our current recommendation for travellers going to Dublin. Not being your cheapest option, I think it has a perfect ratio of price vs. comfort vs. location.
