Travelodge Dublin City Centre, Rathmines
Ranked #94 of 152 Hotels in Dublin
Reviewed October 6, 2013

This hotel was in a great location in Rathmines, the receptionist was extremely professional and friendly, however, the double room we stayed in was a real let down, so dreary and drab, overall a neglected feeling about the place, the mattress on the bed was soo lumpy and thin, the pillows were really flat and uncomfortable, we got up really early and left the hotel the next morning as it proved impossible to sleep in such an uncomfortable bed, apart from the location, this hotel has nothing going for it, and l definately will not be staying again.

Comfortable, budget hotel. Located in Rathmines which has a lot of cafés and is pleasant to walk around. It takes about half an hour to walk into the city of Dublin.

Perfect for a budget stay, but not if you are looking for luxury.

Room Tip: Family rooms are available by request? Room 319 is quiet and spacious.

I stayed in this place and it was £149 for a room which I was lucky to get due to high demand but which didn't include breakfast or car parking. I know it is a budget hotel but this was not a budget price I have paid less for 5 star hotels albeit not in Europe. The reception staff were definitely nice I couldn't fault them at all; its just the place is dreary and looks downmarket in the entrance but I have to say in its favor it is very well located in relation to going to Grafton street,Stephens Green etc.I didn't have breakfast but I understand that it was extremely poor. The car parking cost me an additional 6 Euros. I know that this was a very busy weekend in Dublin and normal price would probably be a third of this which would be OK.

Hi Heggers,

Thank for taking time out to write this review.

We appreciate both your constructive and positive feedback.

For future bookings especially on weekends with high demand I would advise to book as far out in advance in order to obtain the cheapest possible rates.

The hotel is about a 20 min walk out of the centre, so you need your walking shoes. Plenty of local shops for breakfast and is on the bus route to the airport which was the cheapest way back. Staff were very friendly and the room was clean although a little noisy in the morning

Stayed here because the location is fabulous, I needed to be in Dublin6 so this is perfect.
Budget hotel, so everything is standard.
Staff were nice though!
Room was ok, was clean but its a little old. But again - its so cheap to stay there, Its what we expected.
Beds were actually really comfortable!

Perfectly decent and adequate example of this chain.
Good, friendly and helpful staff.
Quiet room although it was round the back.
Very good bus service outside the front door, 10 min ride into town through the poor traffic conditions.
Good restaurant within 5 min walk.
