I didn't know when I booked, but there's a pub on the ground floor of the hotel - which I loved! I was there just one night (a Monday) and they had two guys playing an acoustic set of some Irish and other just pop tunes. They engaged the crowd in some light banter between songs - it's maybe cliche, but that's exactly what I wanted from Dublin. I could still hear them when I went to my room, but it really wasn't intrusive and I think they stopped at 11:30. I could also hear the street noise, but again: not too intrusive. It's in a great location - a 5 minute walk from the train and bus stations, and at most maybe 15 minutes to everything else in the city centre.

Someone else wrote that the rooms are basic, a bit dated, but clean, and that's how I saw them as well. I'd definitely recommend as this place is comparatively great money for value!

recommended hotel to friends travelling from the states - writing this review on their behalf - hotel is ideally located in heart of the city- a genuine irish and better yet Dublin experience - genuine people working there - owner is very hands on and very welcoming - made our trip feel very personalised - rooms are decent size, clean and good value for money - craic in the bar at night is where this hotel excels - will return

We stayed at O'Shea's after missing the ferry to Wales due to an "idjit" taxi driver taking us to the wrong dock. Long story. Anyway, he dropped us off at O'Shea's. Staff at the front were quite good with their humour and understanding of a difficult situation. Room was small, but clean. Very close to City Centre. Pub downstairs was good. I love an Irish tune, but the singing downstairs was sleep challenging at 1 AM.

Rooms are basic, a bit dated, but clean. The hotel has a good overall location that allows you to get out and walk to key areas that you would most likely want to see. Also, a bonus was the live music. Our first night arriving we actually went down to have a drink and stayed on until the band was done playing. Quite entertaining and very welcoming.

Stayed here for one night after a concert at a nearby venue. Had a lovely time. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Food is good quality and plentiful. Good rooms - comfortable and adequately equipped. Good Irish traditional music is played every night. A good fun place to stay in an historical but fun city.

Room Tip: I had a room at the back, and as it was very warm weather, I slept with the window open. The only no...

We stopped by Saturday morning after traveling for hours to get to Dublin for the One Direction concert and fell in love with the places. The menu and music was all 1D which really got us hyped for the concert. We ordered and lovely fry up and were happy out. Reasonable prices. Staff were nice too. We returned Sunday morning then!
