I stayed here for business in all hallows college last year as i was living in cork. It was a great location only a five minute walk away. It was a great place with nonintrusive staff which is refrshing as i was on business and needed to get on with things. The room was lovely and the breakfast was good. i would stay there again. The location is fantastic for touring dublin also. I found the rates were fine and a little haggling works. Well done to the staff keep up the good work.

Jack and Audrey are the most amazing hosts that we have EVER met!. Their rooms are bright, very clean and the personalized service is what can be classified as " WOW". The breakfast is absolutely great, wholesome and you would be hard pressed to get it even in a five star hotel! Our room was very quiet at night, unlike some places near pubs or clubs in Dublin.

The location was very convenient. Very close to the airport, Dublin, dining, grocery, wine and shopping. It is also close to frequent city bus service and for health buffs like me, good long distance running.

Note: There is No elevator but they have a room on the ground floor for people with Handi-cap requirements... but please check with Jack/Audrey.

We have visited Jack and Audrey every time we come to visit our children studying Medicine in Dublin. We will definitely continue to stay here. We are always recieved Warmly and their touch is absolutely special!

We stayed with Jack and Audrey for a total of 9 days and loved it!! Audrey makes a wonderful breakfast to get you started for the day. Avoca House is a short walk from a main bus stop to go downtown or to the zoo. You also have the Botanical Gardens with in walking distance, they are beautiful! After a long day of sightseeing we came back to the most comfortable bed - it was heaven!! They have a nice courtyard to sit in to enjoy the sunshine. Jack and Audrey are so helpful in finding great places to eat and see - they told us about Howth, it was a short train ride and beautiful. If you want an awseome place to call home while on vacation stay with Jack and Audrey at Avoca House, you will not be disappointed!!

We stayed at Avoca House in Dublin just for one night, but we would stay there anytime again. The booking and the mail contact were absolutely uncomplicated and Jack and Audrey were very friendly, open-minded and also helpful when someone "crashed" into our car. The breakfast was ok and also enjoyable because of a funny conversation with audrey. The second day our luggage could be left there until we had to go home. All in all we enjoyed our stay in nice rooms and in a friendly irish atmosphere. Kindly regards to you, Jack and Audrey.

Drumcondra is the perfect base to explore Dublin, and Avoca House is the perfect place to stay! The Turners made us feel right at home, and after 3 nights we were as sad to leave them as we were to leave Ireland.

We travelled Ireland for a week before coming to Dublin, and were tired and ready to relax. The Turners gave us great rooms, super food, and tips that made the most of our days in Dublin. The house is roomy and comfortable, and perfectly situated both for tips into Dublin and the inevitable ride to the airport.

We are walkers , so we made the most of the 20 - 25 minute stroll that puts you right in the middle of the city. Being an amateur Joycean, I appreciated that Eccles Street is only 5 minutes away! If you're not, it is still a very entertaining walk (or, a 10 minute bus ride - a one block walk from Avoca) Going to the airport could not be easier - again, one black walk to the bus, then about 10 minutes to the airport.

While there, definitely go to Fagans Pub, right up the street - the best we found for food, atmosphere, and service - a real neighborhood pub, not a tourist trap. And stay at AVOCA!

My daughter and I were guests at the Avoca B&B in August 2009. We were greeted very
warmly by Jack the owner. He very quickly showed us all the amenites of the house.
Although our room was small it was very comfortable and clean. We quickly discovered
that we had left our toothpaste at our last place that we stayed and the hosts gave us
some to replace our own! Jack even drove us to the store to pick up an umbrella and to get some more toothpaste even though they had said we could have thiers!! (It had begun to rain) What Irish Hospitality......
The bathroom had some nice updates and plenty of shower power and hot water. We slept well and woke up to a very nice breakfast. You could have the full Irish breakfast which was very good or assorted cereals and muffins, bananas etc. I was especially pleased with the coffee that kept coming. ( I am from Washington state and have to have my morning coffee.)
The neighborhood is safe and the bus line is very easy to learn. It is not far from city center by bus which you can catch up the street near Finnegan's Pub.
Very reasonable rates as well. Would recommend to a friend.

We've travelled from Australia for a month. This is the BEST B&B we've stayed in. The rooms are neat and beautifully furnished. The bathrooms are modern and the breakfasts tasty. Best of all Audrey & Jack made us feel extremely welcome. A stay at Avoca House made our Ireland trip.
