Feel a bit mixed about this hotel. On arrival the facade is fairly grim and I did wonder what I had come to! The reception area was lovely though and the staff were very friendly.
My room was clean and comfortable, the furniture is a little dated and worn, but to be honest, it was clean, and for the price I paid, and I really can't quibble. Ie don't come here if you want the pristine minimalist look!
The major let down for me was the (double) disco that took place on the Saturday night. Thankfully I came in at around 11.30, I'm not sure what time the disco finished, it was past midnight, and I only fell asleep as I was so tired. However, I was on the second floor and I could hear every single thing, even what the DJ was saying and unfortunately I'm not into techno music...
To me it was an unacceptable level of noise (God help the poor souls who were on the floor below! I was very close to demanding a room change but I don't know if that would have helped either!) and something the hotel really needs to sort out as I'm not the first person to note this. If I had been staying there with my children I would have been in absolute despair as there is no way that they children would have slept through that level of noise.
The breakfast was really lovely and there was loads of it. A really good choice.
So in summary, I probably would avoid this hotel at the weekend (unless you can ascertain that they haven't got any functions going on!) which is a real shame as if my sleep hadn't be so badly disturbed it would have been a great place to stay.
