In an actual original tenement house, No 14 Henrietta St, you get an insight into what life was like during the 1913-14 Lockout in Dublin. First there is an introductory video, and then, straightaway, you're in the middle of a family living and trying to survive through this period. Young actors portray, very movingly, the struggles and hardships. They draw you into the action with direct questions! Well done to Anu Theatre group! I was sobbing when it finished, it was so intense! Sadly it's due to finish at the end of August. It would be wonderful for secondary school educational trips, bringing history vividly to life. It is not open to children under 12. The whole experience lasts about an hour and the entrance fee is very reasonable and well worth it.
