“A load of bull!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Food is nice but defintly better competition in the area. Not good value for money. Went on a Friday night and qued ages at the bar, coctails were nice but left after one as didn't like the atmosphere and music was terrible. Defintly won't be in a rush back..

“A cock & bull story....”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

I decided to try this out for a midweek evening meal. The refurbished interior is very nice. The selection of beers is a little more interesting than most pubs in the area but is priced about city-centre levels so there is no real value to be had there. Floor staff made some effort to be friendly but not chatty and in my opinion not trained adequately for floor service; good enough to take an order and deliver food to the table but that’s about it. There is a deal on offer; Pint of beer (or glass of wine) starter and main for €20 seems like good value. The bruschetta starter with goat cheese & red onion with side salad was not bad. The flat iron steak was ordered medium well, served well done, had more fat and gristle than meat and was therefore mostly inedible. Chips were so-so just like any frozen chips you can buy in the supermarket. The Goan style chicken curry was quite nice and flavoursome, with plenty of chicken pieces, the soggy naan bread and plain rice served with it didn’t add anything to the meal. I’m not really interested in spending this much for this level of food and service. Overall we were dissatisfied and didn’t feel like we got value for money. If things have settled down or improved in 6 / 12 months I may re-visit, but for now there is nothing here to entice me to return.
