“Too cool for school?”
Reviewed January 16, 2013 via mobile

Nice enough cafe but menu needs to be expanded - it tends to be full of arty farty types & the staff are a little too cool for School!
Have eaten here twice, the last time will certainly be the last - saw one of the staff taking a litre of milk from the fridge drinking straight from the cap and then putting it back in the fridge again - I presume the same container would have been used to fill customer milk jugs later - disgusting and very off putting..

“Man can't live on bread alone he needs to be buttered up once in awhile”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

The Funbally Cafe is a fine dining stop for breakfast ramblers ,lunch seekers & afternoon tea chillaxers situated on Clanbrassil Street. I am a big fan of the various markets that take place in the nearly Newmarket Square each Sunday and if your a fan of the ambiance, atmosphere and food of Flea & Vintage Markets then you will experiece the same delights and more at The Fumbally Cafe. I have popped in for their fine bowl of soup and it comes with a nice salad, some bread and butter all for €7.50. I get the impression that The Fumbally Cafe has accumulated a loyal following of customers who are busy blending working lunch time nourishment while exercising their brains on Mac's and Smart phones. The staff are attentive but slightly aloof but maybe thats probably just me who believes that man can't live on bread alone, he needs to be buttered up once in awhile.
The healthy menu features creative interpretations and variations on popular soup and salad style dishes with assorted fresh baked desserts.
Plenty of comfortable seating and vintage bric a brac scattered around the ground floor of a modern building offers a welcome retreat from the doom and gloom hanging over this part of the city since the hasty departure of the Emperor with no clothers aka The Celtic Tiger.
If your in that neck of the woods check that soup out you will not be disappointed expecially if you get a nice size chunk of bread with it.

Excellent breakfast and lunch in funky surroundings, try the green eggs or any of the daily soup specials!
