“Great location, hotel itself...not so great.”
Reviewed July 26, 2013 via mobile

Our group of 6 had 3 rooms here July 24-26. Rooms were clean enough, but everything is dated. The worst thing though was how hot the rooms were!!! Even with daytime highs in the low 20's & night time lows in the teens, the rooms on the 5th floor were unbearably HOT!!!
With the windows open as wide as they go & the small fan running all night the rooms were still hot, hot, hot! there has to be a heat source somewhere...it was cool outside, but the rooms remained uncomfortable!!
(The response from the front desk was a shrug)
To sum up, safe, clean, conveniently located, but stupid hot & lacklustre service.

The location of this hotel is brilliant.

Some reviews mention that the area can get a little noisy at night......
erm.... surprise surprise folks: this hotel is slap bang in the middle of a vibrant part of Dublin - what a shocker that that can result in a bit of noise....

It's this hotels location in that lovely vibrant area which makes it so good.
There are plenty of hotels further out of the central hub that can provide complete silence, if that's what you're after.

For the record, when we stayed there was no noise to speak of.

Staff were courteous and helpful at all times during our stay.

We didn't eat in the hotel, so I can't comment on the quality of the food.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends, and I would have no hesitation in staying again.

My husband and i stayed at the Grafton Capital along with another couple for three nights, this was my second stay in this hotel. The hotel is not glam - it is a basic honest hotel with a fantastic location at a very good price! The staff were very friendly and helped with every enquiry that we made! Rooms were cleaned daily and beds changed - Regarding previous reviews on noise in the hotel - yes the nightclub plays music on a Friday And Saturday night but it really is not that bad! As I have said i have stayed here twice now and it hasn't bothered me either time that i stayed and i was on the second floor both times!

Room Tip: I think that all of the smoking rooms are on the second floor!

The hotel has such a great location, really close to the Grafton Street and others attractions.
The rooms are good and clean, but the crew isn't helpful or polite. It was impossible to get their support.
Also, if you need wi-fi/ internet, forget it. It doesn't work at all.

This hotel is in a great location for those visiting Dublin beside St Stephens Green and Grafton Street, shops and bars all within walking distance Temple Bar area is 5 mins away.
Overall the hotel needs updating and a facelift the whole place feels tired especially the reception and communal areas. The room was basic but clean and liveable the facilities in the room are okay there are not safes in all rooms so be sure to ask for one when you check in if you want one. The iron was something from the 60s but worked, there was a hairdryer but it was not much more than a hand dryer with a pipe on it in the bathroom but ours did not work.
The restaurant and bar which are next to the hotel is not actually managed by them it was not open all week only on weekends. I would suggest looking around for alternatives for somewhere to have a drink as there are many alternatives within walking distance. Noise from the nightclub was not a big problem for us as we were at the back of the hotel but we did still hear some noise.
Some members of staff were helpful others were dismissive and didn’t not seem interested in comments or questions.

My wife and I decided to celebrate our Silver wedding anniversary with a visit to Dublin to see Agatha Christie's "Mousetrap" on it's only tour outside Britain.
We booked a Saturday night at the Grafton Capital Hotel. The hotel is ideally located in the city centre just off the main shopping area of Grafton Street and right next to that oasis of green in Dublin City St. Stephen's Green.Upon arrival, which I must admit was on the early side (1.15) we were dealt with great courtesy and efficiency and given our room with no problem and no mention of our early arrival.the room itself was spacious and clean and the bed was firm and comfortable, the main things we required for a night away. After the theater we went back to the music bar which is part of the hotel and enjoyed a few drinks with good selection of music being played.Breakfast the next morning was delicious and the breakfast staff were very helpful with all requests.Overall we had a very pleasant stay at this establishment.....No mystery, just a very nice hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room on the corner of the 4th floor which was very bright also street noise was minimal.

The best days of the Grafton are behind her. However, the location was great and the rooms were nice. Except for when we were checking out, the staff could not be bothered to engage us. The wi- fi did not work the first day we were there. The front desk did not believe us when we told them. It was not until a number of people reported the problem did they decide to act. It was also very noisy at night. The hotel restaurant was not open except for breakfast.
