The Hostel is really nice! I went there 2 times with my friends!! It's 5 minutes from the city centre, rooms are cleaned, everyday there is something organized by the staff... Staff is really nice and kind! the hostel is huge, the breakfast is included on the total cost.. I really enjoyed the hostel, perfect.

This was my first hostel, and I was pleasantly surprised with it. The place was clean, the beds relatively comfortable, and the staff helpful. The pillows are incredibly lumpy from being washed regularly, but really not uncomfortable.
I arrived at 9 in the morning after an overnight flight so I was disappointed check in wasn't until 3 PM. I was able to drop my bag in a locker and slept on one of the couches in the lounge.
I'm grateful for the guy at reception when I checked out, he told me exactly where to go to catch my bus, and how to signal for the bus at the bus stop.
The wifi in the lounge was decently fast, and there were plenty of plugs in the rooms to charge your phone.
I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Dublin, especially if they're catching the ferry over to Holyhead.

Guess I don't qualify as the best person to review a hostel as this was my first experience. My stay was as part of a very large group, among other very large groups. If the hostel hadn't been so completely over-run by people I would have probably given it a 5 star rating, as the hostel itself is very organized and super clean and comfortable.

However, it is not well set up for large groups at the same time. It was very difficult to find a place to sit down and eat, or make your way to the food or to your table because so many people in that one room was just more than capacity.

It has a self serve kitchen which I really appreciated, as well as storage lockers. The internet leaves much to be desired. If you need to be able to access internet reliably, make other plans.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful.

This is a well organized, well maintained hostel property. The desk staff are outstanding and helpful. The rooms are clean. We were with a large group, so some of our people were in large rooms that accommodate a dozen people. Their only complaint was one ensuite bathroom for 12 people. There are additional shared toilets and showers on the same floor, so that helped a bit. The smaller rooms are quite nice. Third floor rooms for a couple, or a small family of mom dad and one child are modern and updated. The rooms with ensuite toilets are much nicer than any other properties we have used in Dublin. The breakfast crew is efficient, the food consisting of bread, butter (Irish Butter that is so good!) and freshly mixed juices. There is a kitchen available for those who want to prepare their own food as well.

I have read some reviews and note the complaints about noise from the trams, or the street. Remember, you are in the heart of Dublin, and right near the Bus Ara and tram stops. Their convenience outweighs the noise, and the noise, quite frankly, was not nearly as obnoxious as the yelling and drunken behavior we had to deal with when staying in the temple bar area during past visits to Dublin. Jacobs Inn is situated conveniently close to shopping, Trinity College, and essentially anything else you would want to do in the city. There are groceries and food sources within a block or two. It really is a nice spot. Some feel the neighborhood is a bit dodgy, but I felt perfectly safe (there is a Garda station adjacent to the property) day and night. I would happily return to stay at Jacob's Inn

Room Tip: The third floor rooms for couples or two people had a double bottom/single top bunk combination. Th...

If your in dublin for a few nights stay here.Excellent value for money, clean and friendly.Dont bother paying extortionate money for a hotel in center of dublin,as you will not spend much time in it. Once your out and about drinking and having the crac in the pubs you will only be sleeping in your hotel

Paid a bit more than normal rates due to a last minute reservation during the weekend of the Irish national hurling championships, but was well worth it. Great room, great location (across the street from Connolly Station and Dublin Bus Station), and very nice hostel overall. Very helpful staff and lots of options. Highly recommend!
