“Will not stay again”

Apart from the location, there is not a lot to say for this hotel. Our introduction was when we dropped our luggage off on day of check-in - fine, but the lobby toilets we used were pretty disgusting, with seats and floor displaying the results of the activities of previous users. We checked in at about 9pm and were told our room is on the top floor. No wifi available up there, despite this being assured at online booking. The website has a deliberately vague reference to 'free wifi', which in actual fact is only available in the lobby. Decor throughout the hotel is tired and desperately in need of renovation. Our room was spacious, but a bit cold with no controls for heating/cooling. The worst bit was the bathroom - you can almost overlook the cracked bathroom furniture, mould and rot, but the complete lack of any hot water day and night, and basin taps which have one setting, jetwash, were a nightmare. Sleep was disturbed on and off through the night from about 3am due to what sounded like the rushing of water through a pipe which ran the length of the wall next to our bed and a drip from a leak we could not locate. We were surprised at the volume of whatever was going through the plumbing system.
The breakfast room was like a makeshift mess hall with a small collection of congealing cooked goods, and the table we were NOT shown to was dirty. The staff were too busy clearing chairs which had been piled to the ceiling to take any notice of us. Despite being told breakfast started from 7am, one guest arrived at 8.20am to find the chairs still stacked and no prepared food or tables.
We weren't asked how anything was when we checked out. We would have forgiven most of this in a budget guesthouse, but for a hotel with prices rivalling local business-frequented chains, we were very disappointed. Wouldn't go again.

The hotel has very well location. Easy to walk around the town and not so far from the airport either. Our room was spacious and clean and staff were very helpful during out 3 nights stay. The breakfast was good. Would stay here again.

This hotel could be so good if it were modernised a bit. Everything here shouts 1990s, and it's not somewhere I would take someone if I wanted to impress. That said, the staff were friendly, and despite the fact that it was rather worn and very dated, the room and the hotel were very clean. I didn't have a chance to have breakfast due to an early flight, but the prepay rate was very reasonable. As I've found with other hotels using the Avvio system, the prepay doesn't always seem to work, so check your card statement for a charge before checking in so that when they say it hasn't been charged you don't be left wondering.

The bed was a bit too soft and wobbly for my liking, and when staying as a couple it's impossible to turn or get out of bed without the bed moving quite a bit. I was a bit shocked to see single glazing on the window. Despite it being cold in Dublin, the room was still a comfortable temperature, but as I left early I don't know if the room would have been very noisy in the morning during rush hour traffic.

Also, please note! There is NO wifi in the rooms! It's available in the lobby, but that's not very convenient. There is wired internet access BUT you have to ask for a room with it, as it's not available in all rooms. This is a bit crazy in this day and age, but it goes with the dated feel.

The location is very convenient to the city centre, although it's quite a bit away from the nearest Luas or Dart stops. There are quite a few bus stops around the area, but Dublin Bus is an incomprehensible shambles as far as my experience is concerned, so I don't know if they're of much use to anybody. Unfortunately, like much of north inner Dublin, the location also has a very dodgy feel after dark. While I've never had any problems in the area at night, would plan to take a taxi when going back to the hotel alone.

Overall impression, I don't mind staying here for a night on the cheap, but look elsewhere for facilities and comfort.

Room Tip: You might want to ask for a quiet room, and if you have a laptop with wired network, ask for an inte...

I have to write a review on this hotel because I need people to know what it is like and not to waste your money there.
I kept waking up every five minutes during the night because the bed was so uncomfortable. It had springs coming of it n all kinds. It was like sleeping on a bed of rocks.
I wasted £110 for two nights at this hotel. Never again.
The only thing I can say was good would be the customer service. The receptionists were really helpful and very polite and assisting.other than that, I can say overall my experience here was terrible. The. Lamp in the room was dusty as hell and me n my partner were coughing for two days. The tiles in the bathroom still had plaster all over it, smudged on the tiles. The shower curtain was mouldy. The forceits you have to push down to get water out of them and then have to keep pushing down on it.
The window ledges had bits of wood attached around the sides, clearly a sign that would louse have been and gone.
Do not stay here!

Stayed here recently night before the all Ireland final and found it to be convenient for what we wanted. It is close to all tge shopping areas and restaurants and bars approx 10 min walk. Although people should beware and not walk these streets after dark it can be dangerous so get a taxi.
Only problems I have the hotel have no parking facilities so you have to park in clerys car park which is a 10 min walk with your bags. The hotel stamp the parking ticket but this doesn't seem to influenced the price as it was still 15 euro to park overnight.
The hotel was noisy probably to be expected on an all Ireland night,
Tge residents bar closed at 00:30 which I found very strange.

The staff were friendly and helpful and overall this stay was ok.

The hotel is dated.
The room was horrendous.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable.
We had no view from our window.
Really old & dates.
Mould on the shower curtain.
The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is that the staff where excellent, really helpful nice people.
Everything else lets this hotel down, wouldn't stay here again.

We stayed our last night at this hotel having stayed at the noisy Celtic Lodge. We found this hotel much quieter although there is a pub which goes on until about 12:00 or so. Our room was very clean and spacious compared to Celtic Lodge. Front desk staff Tony was very helpful in arranging our early breakfast (6:00 a.m.), and taxi to airport. Good value for the price.
