“Fantastic Sushi Prices”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2012

I have had a couple of things from the noodle and main course menu but nothing was as nice as the sushi and the value for money is inarguable. The staff are very friendly and efficient. It is difficult to get a table on the week nights, so you might need to book but late lunch is the best time for walk ins.

“if only more dublin restaurants were like this”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

first of all, great service. smiling, attentive without being annoying. even though this place is very busy, they're very helpful if you just turn up looking for a table - unlike some Dublin restaurants. the food is delicious and reasonably priced. we had gyoza, ebi tempura and chicken skewers, then crab, salmon and avocado rolls. the byob policy makes for an affordable, enjoyable evening. quite noisy so not really a place for the romantic evening. otherwise, love it.

“Good, but not brilliant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 16, 2012

Ate there twice this week as part of Science Week.
The Good: Brilliant to find a proper Japanese restaurant with reasonable prices. Good menu and great choices. BYOB is very refreshing (hint: do not wait to buy at the local Spar, very poor selection).
Bad: Food is OK. Sushi is just OK, but the main courses are fine. One night I had the Tuna. I asked for it rare, the waitress disagreed (?) and suggested medium. I went along with this reluctantly. The tuna came out vastly overdone. I had some mixed seafood noodles the night before and they were excellent

“Very poor”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2012

Went to Musashi after reading fantastic reviews on trip advisor and was hugely disappointed. We have orders sushi plato to share which was ok but did not look/taste the freshest. Edamame beans were completed overcooked and had no flavour whatsoever. My seafood noodles were practically uneatable - advertises as “fresh seafood combination” however in reality turning out to be cooked from frozen, very chewy and dry. My better half had teriyaki beef which was much better than the rest of the dishes. Funny enough when our waiter asked if we like our mal I tried to point out that my food was not great but he worked away before I even managed to finish the sentence!

“A sushi plaice worth carping on about. You'll have a whale of a time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2012

This is a really great new sushi / Japanese place on Capel Street. On a street which is overloaded with other Asian cuisine (some good, some best avoided), this place stands out in terms of the quality of the food. It is really starting to become popular amongst the great unwashed too.

The interior decor is a little, well, "Swedish sauna" for my taste and they could invest in some swankier menus - but hey, these are Celtic TIger concerns! Musashi is spot-on where it counts - the food is great. The sushi and sashimi are superior to virtually every other sushi spot in Dublin (admittedly a small pool, so to speak). It ain't cheap, but then again who wants to risk cheap sushi?
