Tomasso is the restaurant of the Wynn's Hotel in Lower Abbey Street. It looks fabulous on the outside, but it doesn't live up to the expectation.
There's more than enough privacy, I've never seen so much space between tables in this type of restaurant - and that certainly is a plus.
But the coffee cups for after diner, or for breakfast the next day, are conveniently placed on any window bank or shelf available, which creates a strange atmosphere.
There's an open kitchen, a descent one, but still. The staff is very friendly and the food is okay... and abundant. My main course consisted of fish on mash, and came with a side of roasted potatoes, boiled potatoes, carrot puree and cabbage in cream. Aw, it was simply to much for me. And my sister got the same sides on her dish.
Wine per bottle is priced between €25 and €30 which is very reasonable.
It certainly is value for money, but it wasn't what we were looking for.
