I loved everything about this restaurant but the food is just fantastic. I had pil pil prawns for starter and hake for main course. The prawns were scrumptious and you get the tastiest garlic bread along with them. The hake(generous portion) was cooked to perfection. Needless to say all that was left on my plate was the lemon wedge. I will definitely be returning!

Had been for a walk along the coast and stumbled across 'Hemmingways' by chance, as it appeared to be the busiest of all the places we looked into. And I'm glad we made the choice.

As soon as you enter, it has a warm feel and we were greeted with a nice welcome and shown to a table. We later discovered it was the owner that greeted us. We were told of the 'Specials' which were all fish based and each one sounding more desirable than the next - ranging from Hake with chilli and prawns to Salmon in roast pepper butter! There was also a homemade Fish Cake for starter which I can vouch for, was amazing. Topped with cheese and came with an amazing chilli jam.

Food was excellent and service was efficient, informative and not over the top/in your face.

Also, despite being the last two in the restaurant on a Sunday evening, there was no rush in getting us our coffee's or the bill and the owner was very happy to make our drinks (and he made a point of not charging us for them!) and proceeded to tell us that the Restaurant used to be a Fish Mongers. Which made sense, as the fish that we ate was unbelievably fresh and extremely tasty.

I for one, will definitely be returning here and hopefully sample some more food and all at a reasonable proce.

This is a small cosy restaurant just off the coast road in Clontarf. The food is really delicious, simple food executed well, with the paella, prawns and rosemary potatoes personal favourites. Book in advance if you want a table on Friday/Saturday night.
