The best guided tour of our trip. Only a small museum but packed with interest. The guide really brought the history of Dublin to life. Don't miss this museum
when visiting Dublin.

“Pictorial Encapsulation of 20th Century Ireland”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

My husband and I came across The Little Museum of Dublin on Thursday, 28 March. There was a sign out advertising free admission on Thursdays. Since the price was right, we decided to go in. The time we spent there was well worth it. We arrived just in time for a 30 minute guided tour of the two main rooms, which are filled with photos, documents and memorabilia from the ceiling to waist high. Our guide was quite knowledgeable about the history of Dublin and Ireland, and told us much through the events of people whose photos were hanging on the walls. Most of the photos, etc. would have been meaningless to us without the tour guide.

“Living History”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

My husband and I visited The Little Museum on 29 March. Having lived in Dublin over 30 years, the museum filled in many gaps in my knowledge. We were very fortunate to have Trevor White as our guide for the tour. Trevor's enthusiasm and love of the history of Dublin was infectious! He made the stories of Dublin come alive.
Would highly recommend a visit and lunch in their downstairs cafe Hatch and Sons to finish.

“Great time had by all”
Reviewed March 31, 2013

My wife, son and I visited the little Museum on March 31, 2013 and each agreed that it was worth a 5***** rating. The visit was made worthwhile by the informative and entertaining tour leader who lead the assembled group of 15 other patrons. The tour lasted approximately 30 minutes and we spent another half hour or son on the portion of the museum which was not included in the guided tour. The guided tour presented a realistic history of the hard life shared by prior generations who inhabited Dublin and the recent economic boom and bust periods. Note that there is a cafe in the ground floor beneath the Museum where we ate that had a reasonably priced limited menu of sandwiches etc. which we enjoyed.

Thanks very much for taking the time to visit the Little Museum. We're delighted that you were good enough to share your enthusiasm for the work we're trying to do. Incidentally, you may be interested to hear that we have free entry every Wednesday (12-5pm) and Thursday (3-8pm), thanks to two great old Dublin companies: Diageo and Johnston, Mooney and O'Brien. We would love to have you and your friends back anytime!

“Great stop”

An excellent and engaging encapsulation of twentieth century culture and history in Ireland. Plus there is a fantastic restaurant below called Hatch and Sons that serves great midday meals.
