I visited The Counter for lunch recently with some colleagues; we arrived at c. 1.15pm and the place wasn't too busy. We were brought to a table at the rear of the restaurant & our server took our drinks order, the menu's were on the table but one of our party thought that he remembered there being a lunch special (which was not on the menu), we asked our server if there was a lunch special, to which she confirmed there was (any burger on the menu with fries and a drink for €11). We shouldn't have had to ask for the lunch special (it was lunch time), anyway we ordered 4 specials; it took nearly 20 minutes for the food to arrive; which for lunch time on a Friday is too long (people have work to go back to). We ordered 3 Counter Burgers and a Taco Turkey Bowl. The Fries that came with the Burgers were really good (I am sure they were frozen; but they were very tasty non the less), the Counter Burger was a mammoth burger loaded with crispy onion rings and fried mushrooms served on a toasted bun (we were all very satisfied with the Counter Burger). The Taco Turkey Burger bowl on the other hand was a bit pedestrian, it was pretty bland & looked pretty sad when compared to our luscious burgers (but it didn't have a bun, so maybe that didn't help the look). I will definitely visit the counter again

It was very pleasant experience!. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, and fabulous food. One of the best chicken wings I have ever tasted, juicy and not greasy. I will come back again for sure!

Very nice idea to build the burger from the bun and toppings right down to the type of salad leaf and side. All delicious and freshly made - loses a star as we had to wait an age for a table and the wait was poorly managed by the host plus she let some people sit for an age after finishing and paying - jog on people!!

Originally from Chicago, and living in Ireland for a year now, we were dying for a juicy burger. As many of you know, all "meats" must be cooked well done here, so we haven't ventured out for burgers or steaks much, as we prefer a meduim/rare quality. But The Counter was willing to make juicy burgers for us, not exactly well done so we were thrilled.. YAY! Excellent service, make your own burger form an endless list of toppings, sauces, buns, extensive wine list, and reasonable prices, even tho just off Grafton street area. Fries were divine..rosemary, garlic, parmesean, all tossed with light salt, built our own burgers with combos of peppercorn, chipolte, Irish blue cheese, Irish Cheddar, mushrooms..and fun to order with the little pencil and paper menu..will positively go back again!

The food is good but I've found the service slow on more than one occasion. I like the chilli cheese fries though burgers are the speciality.
