Walk around the gardens on a cold but sunny day lots of art to see finished by Oscar wildes statue an incredible art work had to wait a little while as o many people wanted to have photo taken so just strolled long looking at little pieces of Art
So much history along the road too the Edwardian and Georgian houses are amazing
Don't miss it
Can't wait to be back in the spring
Make sure you get a map though I found places by accident when most hotels have maps for free at reception

Had only a day to visit Dublin. Was told by many to visit Merrion Square and St. Stephen's Green. Went to both and for me, Merrion Square was the winner. Filled with pockets of gardens, beautiful trees and other foliage, it was a respite from a busy city. It felt more "hidden" in design than St. Stephen's Green - you could walk for bits and not see other people.

I live in NYC with Central Park only blocks from my apartment so I have a high standard for any park. Merrion Square definitely measured up to the standard and felt just as special - if not more so in some ways - than Central Park. If I lived in Dublin, I'd be visiting on a regular basis.

Architecturally worth a visit but due to the disruption from barriers for the Dublin Marathon it was difficult to see much.

Lovely spot which I definitely recommend. It's a really nice park surrounded on all sides by beautiful Georgian houses - well worth a visit....

Make two full circuits of this pretty square - one inside to see the Oscar Wilde statue and the hidden recesses of greenery in this pretty square. Then go around one more time on the street and admire all the beautiful doors of Dublin. Take some photos so you can study the fantail lights, the boot scrapers, the painted panels, and fancy pediments. This is a highlight of Dublin.
