Liked everything about it, but we were rushed out pretty early in the morning while trying to adjust to time differences and the staff were quite rude about it. Besides that it was all great. If you have a car park under the adjacent hotel and the rates are pretty good. The young vibe at the hostel was nice but its probably not somewhere a family could stay.

It's amazing for a hostel! Great rooms, great location and great value. Had a brilliant stag here and it was very close to Templebar. The reception resembles a 4 star hotel. The LUAS stop is just outside also

Four plus bags travelled by taxi at 11.00 on a Friday night from the airport for about 25 euros. You can take the 757 bus, this takes you to the city for 6 euros and there is a regular service.

Our party was Grandfather (72) father and 2 sons, we went to Dublin to celebrate eldest son's 21st birthday. We didn't want an expensive hotel, just a base, the Generator did a good job for us.

We paid about £125 for a private room for 4 for two nights, we thought that represented good value.

Room was basic but clean, bunks very comfortable, shared washing facilities clean with plenty of showers and hot water.

The 4 euro breakfast sufficient as we had a an early start, coffee, OJ, toast cereals, and fruit.

Good area to sit and relax, pictures attached, but the music was too loud in the evenings, if it had been quieter we would have use it and the bar more! There were some people there but they were as far away from the speakers as they could get, so it wasn’t just us. Room was quiet and we all slept well.

Staff helpful, but no towels in the room, guy on the desk said they were provided in private rooms for 2 but not 4(?) but ‘no problem’ and let us have 4 without the 2 euro fee.

Would happily use Generator again for a clean, cheap base in a city centre. My son, who has travelled the world using hostels, thought it didn’t have as much personality as some hostels he had been to, but for our party I thought Generator provided a reliable, standardised offer that might be similar across their various hostels around the world.

Had a great experience here and would definitely come back! This is the best hostel I've stayed in to date!

The amenities are all new and the space is energetic and modern. There is definitely a younger crowd here... mostly 20&30somethings but a mix of older travelers and a few families. Everything beat my expectations. The downstairs lobby is great - 24 hour access, computers, wifi, a bar, and a mingling area all contribute to a very fun atmosphere. It almost felt like a big party, and I was able to meet a lot of people. The staff were ok - not superfriendly, but polite enough for what I needed.

I stayed in a 6 person room, with a private bathroom. The rooms all have lockers (bring your own lock) ad there were plenty of electrical outlets. The main door, elevator and rooms all require a key card, so the hostel is very secure.

The hostel is right next to the tram stop on Smithfield square, and there is a on-off bus stop right outside the building. There is also a large grocery store further down the road as well. Temple Bar is a reasonable walk from the hostel, but it's something to consider if you want to be closer to the action.

This hostel surprised me a bit. After walking for a while from O'Connell street, we found it in the Smithfield courtyard area, checked in (a bit of a mix-up there, but no big deal), and headed out into the city. The location was great because everything was in walking distance (the Jameson Distillery is next door!) and if it wasn't, there was a tram stop 2 minutes from the door. It's a pretty clean hostel with friendly staff and a nice bar downstairs. The only problem I had throughout our stay was the WiFi access was pretty crap, though they had computers you could pay to use (not the best, but it works!) Overall, I recommend this hostel - especially for traveling students or teenagers!

Other than that, it is a beautiful hostel. The bar is great and also its staff. Rooms are spacious and quite nice. But once again, lack of cleanliness is an issue here. It's a shame though, bc all the rest is there. And having a place neat and clean for any kind of accommodation establishment is a MUST! Great food as well.
