Owner description: Sited in the heart of the walled medieval city, St Audoen's Church is the only remaining medieval parish church in Dublin. Open April to October each year.

Some of the churchs in Dublin are awe-inspiring. This one is just NICE, and VERY interesting, in terms of the way that its 800-year history is presented. I highly recommend it if you have a short gap in your schedule. Depending on how carefully you read each explanation in the visitor center (or if you take the free tour), you could spend anywhere from 20 minutes to a couple of hours here (at most). The staff is very friendly, and the historical displays are well laid-out. Most have a good visual element (such as the models showing how the structure was expanded over the centuries) and not too much text to wade through. This was the only place in my (admittedly brief) visit to Dublin where there was a good explanation of the role of the Guilds in the churches of Dublin -- FASCINATING!

Only about 100m from Christ Church Cathedral, this small church is well worth a visit. Just watch out for the drug addicts in the outside garden.

This is one of the best historical church exhibitions i have ever seen as it explained the history of this still-used Church of Ireland church and gave the historical background to how this small church had fallen into disrepair. The historic ruins, the literate and well-informed displays complement the simple Protestant church tucked at the side. well worth a visit

But I did this trip - and was mightily surprised! I knew it was an old church - but never had any idea that it had ruins in the courtyard (for lack of a better term). I went on a Bank Holiday - and it was open free of charge - but it is worth paying for. In addition to the ruins, it is a working church that has a mysterious stone that apparently changes locations if it gets moved! Also are some effigies in a fairly spooky side room. The church itself is pleasant - and the museum portion has a good deal of information about the old Dublin Guilds. As another review mentioned, the grounds are lovely.

This is a really stunning site, especially in relation to the old city wall. I would love to go back to see the inside, the grounds were really special.
