“Really interesting but wrap up if you're going in winter”

The walking tour around the cemetery is approx 90 mins long and although this time flew in I would strongly recommend dressing warmly. I went on this tour at the start of november and I have to say I was very happy that the sun was shining. The tour was brilliant, really interesting, our guide had a massive amount of knowledge and told many interesting stories. As well as the walking tour there is also a museum and a cafe to have a cup of tea in afterwards. I would recommend this tour to anyone

“Great way to spend a Sunday morning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

I visited Glasnevin Cemetery on a Sunday morning in December last. Frosty, clear air & a lovely Christmas atmosphere. My father and I enjoyed a fabulous breakfast in the tea house, great value, and the service was delightful. We walked around the graveyard, and did not wait long enough for the tour, which is also brilliant by all accounts. Definitely worth a visit, if only to look at the headstones of all our famous ancestors

“Wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

Astonishing, beautiful cemetery, and wonderful tour guide Niall's history of Ireland was completely absorbing, informative, moving and entertaining. The museum is great too, plus lovely cafe. A really great place to visit, so glad we went.

“Great walking tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

Tour was great, lasts about 1 1/2hr but flys in as you visit so much. Tour guide was brillant and full of information. Best bit was being able to go into daniel onconnells tomb and see his coffin as this bit isnt open to the public. Only small downside is the cost, comparing this (€12 per adult) to kilmainham jail (€6 per adult) you get alot more for your money in kilmainhams tour. Still a great tour thought and glad we visited.

Very informative and well organised tour. Guide was one of the best I've heard this year - well tuned to her subject, witty and kept the tour interesting and fun (even in a cemetary!(
