Owner description: Dublinia is one of Dublin’s top visitor attractions with three exciting exhibitions all located at the historic crossroads of Dublin. There are three exciting exhibitions; Viking Dublin and Medieval Dublin recreate the city through life size reconstructions, including a Viking house and a medieval fair while Death and Disease are also investigated. Finally unearth the city’s past at the new interactive History Hunters exhibition, visit an excavation site, and see medieval bugs under the microscope in the Lab. See Dublin from a new perspective and come away knowing more about its citizens throughout the ages!

“Do It!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

What a fun museum! Covers the Viking and Medieval periods of Dublin, lots of models of period characters, not your typical stuffy museum. Even includes an exhibit of a medieval outhouse/loo complete with sound effects. Truly is a walk through time to inlcude an exhibit about archeology digs with a job shack etc. Soem hands on, interactive elements. We were pleased to come across this museum at Christ's Church. It was one of the few attractions open on New Year's Day, our last day in Dublin. Very education, informative, and fun. The kids will enjoy it too!

“Interesting Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

We went here to experience the viking and medieval Dublin which is what Dublinia is all about. This was a very informative visit. You go at your own pace in Dublinia which was brilliant for us as some of us were interested in different things. The cathedral at the end is also worth a visit.

“Good for kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

Available in Spanish, most of the way, it's great for an interactive experience that will surely entertain the little ones. Although we were grown up, we also enjoyed it and got to see some interesting aspects of the way old dubliners lived.

“OK if it is raining”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2013

This is a walk round tour with lots for you to read as you go around each floor (a bit much for my liking). It was interspersed with artefacts which were replicas rather than originals and lots of bad dummies in scenes depicting Viking life (although the Viking noisily using the toilet was quite amusing).

We are sorry that you did not enjoy some aspects of the visit. The Viking and Medieval Dublin exhibtions on the 1st and 2nd floor are supposed to be reconstructions of the city of Dublin as it was at that time, using models in viking house and medieval streets etc, it is a depiction of life as it was then thus they are replicas/reconstructions to get this feeling and atmosphere across.
The top floor exhibition on Archaeology, History Hunters, however does have the original artefacts (on loan from the National Museum of Ireland), from the Viking and Medieval period, if however this does not come across on this floor, we will do our best to look into this.
Many thanks for your review.
