My husband and I visited the zoo on 10th April and had an excellent day. Lots of animals to see! Make sure you have your walking shoes on though. Can't believe how close you are to animals! The shop isn't that expensive for gifts just average price! Make sure you read the map where you are and where you want to go as it can be very easy to miss a particular section. All in all fantastic day out!

What a great zoo. Easy to find. Easy parking outside. Easy walking as all flat. We thought it was well priced. From the 1st enclosure you see animals and what a variety there are here. Plenty of rest rooms ( which are spotless ) and coffee/ eating spots dotted through the zoo. Two lovely feature lakes and a fantastic african plains area where rhino, giraffe's & zebra roam free. Good gift shop as well. Highly recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day out here. I had read somewhere to allow 3 hours for a visit. We spent 6 and could easily have spent more had it not been closing! The high point has to be the closeness of the animals and friendliness of all staff from box office to keepers. The low point was definitely the food and service in the Nakuru Restaurant. The burgers and chips were really poor. There were only 2 members of staff on duty - a cook and a server. The server got just about every order wrong but to be fair to him he was pleasant, polite and kept apologising. His name was James and his managers should be ashamed that he had to work under such pressure.
One other gripe - I was a bit disappointed with the reptile house.
Can't wait for our next visit but......... we will bring a picnic!

This was one of the last activities of my trip and it was absolutely worth seeing. My son and I walked from the Ashling hotel, through Phoenix Park which was also beautiful. The Zoo had a great variety of animals to see and we were amazed by how close up you were able to view them.
