Owner description: Christ Church Cathedral is one of Dublin's oldest buildings, a leading visitor attraction and a place of pilgrimage for almost 1,000 years. Famous for its breathtaking beauty, magnificent architectural features and wonderful floor tiles, Christ Church is also popular as a venue and is host to many high profile concerts throughout the year. It is home to the tomb of Strongbow, leader of the Normans, who captured Dublin in 1170. The Medieval Crypt, the largest in Ireland, extends under the entire Cathedral and contains the mummified Cat and Rat, trapped in the organ in the 1860s. Guided tours, including the belfry, are available up to five times a day Monday to Saturday. Opening Hours: March and October Monday-Saturday: 9.30-18.00 Sunday: 12.30-14.30 /16.30-18.00 April –September Monday-Saturday: 9.30-19.00 Sunday: 12.30 – 14.30 /16.30 – 19.00 November –February Monday-Saturday: 9.30-17.00 Sunday 12.30-14.30 Please note there may be some restricted access due to services and events.

I liked looking at the stained glass windows. We attended the service that Sunday. It was traditional; a good experience. There were food stalls both on the weekday, and Sunday. People enjoyed taking a rest and having their snacks outside the church.

Hi there - I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit to the cathedral. Our stained glass is very beautiful and wonderfully preserved - I hope you managed to purchase the guide to the stained glass in the gift shop, it really brings it to life!

Beautiful Cathedral! They crypts are a must-see. Not creepy crypts at all. Very cool with a museum down there and a cafe. Definitely go!

This is an impressive Church with ancient roots and a good record of all that it experienced. There was a lot of repetition in the somewhat confusing brochure and the video in the crypt. More information on the ancient history of the church would have been welcome.

A must see in Dublin.Apart from being an architectural marvel its a seat of deep history.Take time to admire the details(stained glass panels and artefacts)

Dont miss the crypt. Many interesting treasures(also a very educative video playing there)

Well worth a visit.

PS : I wish someone at the ticketing counter had spoken to us about the bell tower tour.Regret missing it.
