A charming downtown hotel. Light on amenities and small rooms, but in a different location it would be a nice place to stay. However, they do not warn you that some rooms are directly over a late bar. You may as well try to sleep in the bar. The noise makes it impossible to sleep. I suppose it would be a fine place if you planned to stay out until 330 am. Otherwise say far, far away.

125 year old hotel in Central Dublin, close to lots of famous landmarks. We had 4th floor rooms which whilst small were adequate and at 69€ for B&B was ok. Wifi was very poor but everyone was very helpful. The library bar was lovely, comfy seats and we spent hours during the day recovering from a weekend on the west coast!

Room Tip: Use the library bar for teas and coffee. Avoid 4th floor rooms- wifi poor in some parts of hotel.

We spent our last night in dublin here so that we were within walking distance to all the attractions and unfortunately the great location is the only thing going for this hotel.
The room itself is large but with a flat screen tv the size of an iPad on the far wall, no air conditioning, a rather uncomfortable bed and an uni voting lounge that doubles as a sofa bed.
The worst part is that one side is adjacent to bars and nightclubs and whilst we stayed on a Sunday night the noise kept us awake until just after 3am and the garbage man awoke us again at 5.30am.
This hotel needs to look into soundproofing or double glazing as we certainly won't be staying here again due to the noise.

I stayed in this hotel on a shopping trip and it was in the most prefect location I could imagine, convenient to loads of shops and restaurants and near bus stop.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and great to deal with.
The rooms were on the small side and a bit dark and tired but the price really made up for it.
I would definitely recommend it to friends.

After being moved around due to a over booking in our original hotel. We ended up in the central hotel and it was excellent. The young lady who met us at reception and who was from Kildare helped us out to no end. The hotel itself has built its self around period features with modern fittings and fixtures. Room was spacious and very clean. I would highly recommend to stay here and that comes from someone that works in the service industry.

The Central is perfectly situated, between Grafton street and Dublin Castle, within easy walking distance to St.Stephens Green, Connolly Street, Temple Bar, etc. The hotel's decor is somewhat old fashioned, but our room was large, clean and comfortable, with all the facilities you could reasonably expect from a three star hotel. Found the reception staff very helpful, arranging a very early alarm call and taxi for us. Did'nt have the opportunity to sample the breakfasts, as leaving before 7.00a.m. The rate for a thursday night stay was very reasonable, and will certainly look to stay here again. Treat youself to a visit to Fallon & Byrne Ltd, which is situated next door to the hotel. It is a fantastic fine food store, with a wine bar and shop downstairs.

Stayed here as it was close to a wedding party that we attended. Can't fault it really. Its no 5 star hotel and lacks a little modernization in the public areas and the rooms aren't plush, but they are comfortable. Beds are big and comfy. The room was warm but at least you can turn the rads off & open the window if you so wish.

No views from many of the the rooms, unless you consider the old rear quad to be that!

The full Irish breakfast was prompt and tasty, as was the coffee and toast.

Possibly a little noisy for some from the outpourings from Temple Bar, but once you are in your room, this soon dissipates. It is a great city centre location - it couldn't be more Central.

Room Tip: If you want a view, ask for one of the rooms on the outside of the building, which are probably very...
