This hotel is located in a lovely part of Dublin close to the aviva stadium and a short walk to many pubs restaurants etc. I stayed on a Saturday night recently and found the hotel to be old fashioned and certainly in need of an upgrade. Our room was tiny but to be fair we were advised of this when booking and were given a more favourable rate. Breakfast was not good, poor quality. The positives of this hotel are its lovely bar(great guiness!) reasonable prices and it's location.

Stayed in the hotel for one night in June 2012. Was ideal location, not far from the RDS where we were attending an event or town. Nice leafy part of Dublin, nice to wander around.
Hotel was clean and very pretty. The internet charge of 8e per night was a bit steep. We booked a twin room which was spacious with an enormous bathroom, we were very impressed.
However, the staff let the hotel down. When we checked in we were greeted by a very nice man who was very helpful, however his outfit was more casual than business. Later that evening I was using the free internet in the lobby and the lady behind reception was making a call. She was loud and rude and swore quite a bit during the call. I can only hope that it was a personal one. As the reception is not very big I heard every word, though she was not one bit troubled by this. She did not even lower her voice. The following morning we ordered a taxi, an hour before we were due at Heuston and after several mix-up with reception booking taxis we eventually ended up flagging one down on the road and racing to catch our train.
Could not fault the hotel and location but the staff really let the place down.

We stayed at the Lansdowne Hotel in May this year for three nights, we were visiting from Australia. We found the entire staff very helpful, pleasant and welcoming.
The accommodation was of excellent quality, the room very clean and very quiet and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was great as were the evening meals we had in the Den.
We caught the bus into the city without any trouble, just a short trip, and on the morning we left the staff member on reception organised a taxi which got us to the port in plenty of time to catch an early ferry.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Took my 90 year old grandparents here and I am so glad we picked this hotel. The owners and staff are friendly and so helpful, really helped out making sure the Grandfolks were happy and comfortable, as well as my cousin and I. Not far from the centre and brilliant value for money, Beautiful Georgian features, although the bathrooms are a little 80s they are roomy and more than acceptable. Mix of guests ie ages, backgrounds and reason for travel. Am going to take my husband there when we visit Dublin together, and I bet Brendan in the Den will remember my name! Definitely a gem and I have no qualms recommending this hotel, Thanks so much to all the staff for helping to make our trip so memorable.

Room Tip: Would say the Den can get a little loud if you are in a front room and there is something on, this d...

The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Not the cleanest hotel but that could be reflected in the price. The room was clean and comfortable. Would recommend the hotel but don't expect the highest standards.

Fantastic value for money, room was very comfortable and everything I needed. The en suite was great, the shower pressure was excellent and I think I might copy the tiles they used in my own bathroom.

Plenty of amenities a short walk away, a taxi to the Guiness Factory is about 10 minutes. Dublin Airport 20 mins. Starbucks is a 5 minute walk with plenty of other bits and pieces in between.

Room Tip: Room 21 - nice and quiet.
