“Comfortable former Holiday Inn”
Reviewed December 7, 2012

The Pearse Hotel is now one of Dublin's "Nama hotels" owned by the bank set up to take on properties from Irelenad's financial property crash. As a former Holiday Inn, it is a relatively modern building and benefits from large rooms, spacious foyers and comfortable restaurant bar/brasserie, and is conveniently located for the DART. Pearse Street runs from Trinity College to the Grand Canal Quay and it is a short walk to Meirrion Square or on to St Stephen's Green.
It was very quiet for a winter stay in December, with a warm welcome from Reception, big quiet room with two queen beds, and an extensive buffet breakfast. And a room rate of 69 euros B & B was real value for money.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms at the rear of the hotel

13 of us stayed at the Pearse hotel from the 1-2 December. We had an early morning flight and should not have checked in until 3pm, but thankfully when we were only hoping to leave our bags there around 9am we were informed the rooms were ready for us. Breakfast was a reasonable price and had a great choice! All the staff were friendly and helped us with every enquiry. The rooms were clean and comfortable. From what we saw the area was fine and not that far from the Temple bar area. Would highly recomend this hotel. In one word FABULOUS!!

I stayed in this hotel for one night last week, and one night was more than enough.
The car park was difficult to find, we had to wait for some time for the gates to be opened (holding up the traffic) and eventually had to phone to hotel to ask them to open the gates.
At check-in we were asked to pay in full, even though credit card details had been given as security when booking. I have never been asked to pay for a hotel room up front before.
The instant I opened the door to the room I was hit with the very strong smell of smoke. Reception said that there was no other room available, so we were stuck with this horrible-smelling room. It was the first thing I noticed when I woke up in the morning. It was disgusting; very unpleasant for a non-smoker to have to endure, especially when you have paid for the privilege.
Breakfast was poor. No fruit, yogurt or breads other than slice pan. Stewed tea was provided in thermos jugs instead of fresh tea being brought to your table in a pot.
I Won't be staying here again.

The room was very spacious, with coffee maker and tea, big bathroom, very warm and cozy inside. We had a good night sleep (interior court room). good breakfast (english breakfast, cereals with milk and others but poor coffee and tea)... internet very expensive, a bit far from the center.

Stayed here for Christmas shopping in Dublin, nice comfortable hotel ,great beds ,clean and quiet, and staff gave us maps for Dublin told us to take the no 1 bus across the road to get to O Connell St ,.Breakfast was very good self service but staff were there to greet you and help. Great value for city centre hotel

Room Tip: We got a front facing room which is larger than the other rooms but expect some noise from traffic

I stayed in this hotel on 24th October 2012, and from the looks of things it was in the room pictured when looking at this review.

The decor in the hotel is a bit dated but this isn't the worst hotel in the world by any stretch of the imagination.

We arrived early (11am) and the room was ready for us, we were also able to park in the hotel car park at a cost of 10 euros

Breakfast was good, Cereal, Fruit or cooked Breakfast.

A member of Bar Staff Oscar was particularly helpful, and took great time explaining drinks, whiskeys etc. If I'm going back to Dublin I would definitely consider staying here again

On a side note, noise from other rooms could be an issue - we were able to hear the couple in bed next door - luckily our kids were still asleep!
