“Great for Business and Touring”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2012

Many reviews have said this already but this is a great location for business and for launching into touring Dublin. The Hilton is a good value and provides a great breakfast. I found them to be great location and will consistently go back here when in Dublin. Though the facility doesn't "wow" you like a grand 5-star location, it is one of those hilton hidden gems. What I like is that it is quiet but easy to hop on the train to Stephens Green and into Dublin night life, pubs, restaurants. We usually found ourselves taking a train in and quick cab ride back as cabs are everywhere late at night after the trains stop but music keeps going. Also, I have to say, one gem of a location is just down the street/canal from the hotel at the end of the block or bridge called "The Barge". Great starters, good eats and of course a pint or glass of your favorite in a nice local environment. We were there in the "hot spell" of sunshine and 80's for Dublin recently and the Hilton's location on the canal was a grand place to watch gatherings, kayak races, to run/walk.

A very welcoming hotel. Modern, clean and not too far from the main centre and tourist sights of Dublin. Directly on the tram route, but within walking distance of the main shopping ares. The rooms were spacious and clean. WiFi in room was at an extra charge, however free in the public areas downstairs. Service was excellent and usual Hilton breakfast was good.I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Try for a room on the other side from the trams.

We often use this hotel. It has a small but adequate gym. Close to city centre and beside a luas stop-again great for travelling to city centre or other parts of dublin. Always clean and great to have breakfast available until 12 at weekends

I travel a lot for work and stayed her for 3 or 4 nights a week for a 6 month period last year. This is the most consistantly good business hotel I have ever stayed in.
I did not care what room I was booked into, there were all almost identical (in a good way).
In addition the staff are all really excellent.
PROs:
Consistant high quality rooms
Good TV's (40" lcd)
One of the few Hotels in Dublin with Sky Sports included in room
Good food in both the bar an resturant.
Good location - 10 minute walk from St. Stephens Green
Luas (tram) outside front door.
Really good staff (genuinely nice, friendly and professional)
CONs
Limited, small gym, no pool, saunas etc.
Although underground parking is available, it can at time be difficult to find a space
The bar is pretty quiet and lacking in atmosphere (as one might expect in business hotel bar)
In room wifi is not free (unless part of hilton honors club)
One of the floors (2nd I think?) has some smoking rooms. Being in a non smoking room on a floor with smoking rooms would still annnoy me.
THe Luas (tram line) runs quite close to one side of the hotel

Overall a great hotel for business or leisure break. Would highly recommend

Room Tip: 1. Avoid any rooms on the smoking floor (unless you're a smoker :-) ) 2. Ask to avoid rooms on...

I stayed here in February of this year while the UK got dumped with Snow! This is a nice Hotel, located in a quiet area alongside the canal, Next to a tram stop that gets you to St Steven's square. Noise is not an issue with these trams by the way, they are very quiet when operating!
The Rooms are at the usual high level of Hilton standards, clean, and very comfortable. Good buffet breakfast selection but not cooked very nice unfortunately on my visit!

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights at the end of a 2 week trip to Ireland. It was nice to stay in a real hotel after being in B&B's for the better part of 10 days. My wife likes B&B's, but I could live without them.

The hotel is clean, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was great, rooms was spacious. Absolutely a wonderful stay.

Its a little far from the heart of the city, but my wife and I didn't mind the 15 minute or so walk to Grafton street. We also enjoyed eating in a nearby neighborhood away from the touristy center with all the locals.

Room Tip: Our room faced the courtyard, which was nice, but if we wanted to sleep with the windows open, we co...

We used the Hilton Charlemont as part of a deal with Stena Line.....you more-or-less get the boat fare free. The hotel is on the orbital road right next to the Grand Canal and has parking beneath. The Luas tram stop is adjacent but it is an easy 10 min walk into the St Stephen's Green/Grafton Street area.

Our room was quite large and well-equipped. OK, no dressing gown but do you really need one? The bed was comfortable and bathroom fine. The TV had a host of channels including UK ones. Free newspaper at breakfast too.

Downstairs the reception and bar areas are spacious. We had a couple of niggles at breakfast in that staff forgot to bring us stuff but we mentioned this at reception.

All in all we enjoyed our stay here.
