We stayed here several nights with my wife and her parents. Paul and Elieen were the nicest people. Talking with Paul was always an adventure as you never were quite sure where he would end up. But he provided great advise and conversation during our stay. The house was very well maintained, and a short distance to the city center. We would take the bus into town, and walk home at night. Great B&B if you have a rental as they have off street parking in the rear.

Elieen and Paul take great care of us and that is why we return every time we go back to Dublin. I would highly recommend this traditionally Georgian on the outside and very comfortable on the inside home. It's in a good part of Dublin. Within walking distance of the City. Think we have now stayed in every room which are all excellent and breakfast is always plentiful and welcome.

Room Tip: All rooms are well presented have used double, twin and the family room

I would highly recommend this very comfortable home with its enchanting patio
in a good residential area of Dublin. Within walking distance of several places of interest, as well as having one of Dublin's canals nearby, perfect for a quiet stroll....
The hosts Elieen and Paul take great care of their guests.. they live up to the reputation lreland has for its welcome, and are at hand for advice about restaurants
(several good ones a short walk from the house) or whatever
their guests need. Portobello well deserves the positive comments from satisfied guests.

My boyfriend and I stayed there in a room overlooking the canal for 3 nights in June and everything was fantastic. The location for touring Dublin on foot was perfect, the beds were clean and comfy, the view was wonderful and the staff made it a point to cater to your evey need. We really could not have had a better start to our trip. One night I was trying to make a local call to my cousin who was studying abroad in Dublin at the time and my phone wouldn't connect because I'm from the U.S.A; the man at the front desk was very nice and offered me his phone tot make the call. Very nice and helpful people at a perfect location.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the canal, a bit noisy but worth it and with all the drink in Dublin you shouldn't have any problem falling asleep!

My Sister and I book-ended our 3 week vacation in Ireland by staying the first 3 nights and the last 3 nights at the Portobello B and B. Our room with two comfortable beds was large, bright and spotless. Breakfast in the mornings was generous and well prepared. Paul's french press coffee was the best of our trip. There is a bus stop right outside the front door of this B and B and a store across the street that sells inexpensive l, 3 or 5 day bus passes, a easy way to get around Dublin. The owners, Paul and Eileen recommended dinners at the Locks Brasserie just down the street, we ate there the first and last nights in Dublin (best restaurant during our stay in Ireland - please see the pictures). We took a Patty Liddy Walking Tour of the City, well worth the time and very reasonable. We are "foodies" and booked a quick tour with Fabulous Food Trails; and visited cheese shops, cafes, a food emporium, deli's and even a pub, it was great fun. Paul and Eileen made our time and stay in Dublin very special. We would stay there again and we highly recommend this B and B.

Room Tip: We had the very front room which was large with lots of outside light.
