Great located hotel, rooms where clean and tidy. Parking is situated across the road with 24 hr secure parking.
Hotel is just off O'Connell Street but in the centre of the city. Temple bar is about 10-15 minutes walk away for the hotel.
Overall a good visit.

The location of this hotel is amazing, just around the cornor from O'Connoll Street, the tour bus starts right outside the hotel. I would recommend getting the green tour bus and wait for a live tour as the driver does the talking and they are all very informative and have funny stories to tell.

The room we stayed in was very small, probably the smallest I have ever stayed in, however it was very clean and to be honest we were not really in it that much only to sleep. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom a good size with loads of hot water for showering, no bath. The television had a lot of channels to choose from and it was a good size.

There is a bar next door to the hotel and our room overlooked their area at the back for smoking. We always travel with ear plugs so this wasn't a problem for us but there was alot of noise at night and bottles getting rattled about early every morning.

Although the hotel states that there is free WiFi in all the rooms ours did not work properly, it kept cutting out and hanging on us.

We ate in the hotel on our first night and it was a nice meal, the service was good.

Dublin is a beautiful city and I would recommend anyone to go there. The history is amazing and the bus tour very worthwhile and at only 18 euros for the two days very well priced, you also get a free walking tour included in this but you need to ask your bus driver for your ticket. We did do a lot of walking which I would advise if you can as you experience more of the city this way.

Make sure you visit Grafton Street for the shopping especially on a Sunday afternoon as there are so many street performers there and they are great to watch.

Dublin is expensive to eat in but you can budget if you are careful.

We stayed at this hotel for 7 days and had a wonderful time. It is located next to busy O'Connell Street and had many stores and restaurants to experience. A 747 bus is located right in front of the hotel and it will take you to and from the airport for only 10 euros each round trip. The hoho, hop on, hop off bus, is on O'Connell Street and gets you to many museums, the Guinness brewery, Jamison Distillery, zoo, Temple Square, etc. We didn't need to rent a car because of the great bus and tram system around Dublin. The hotel was clean and adequate for our stay. It has a restaurant on site and free Wi-Fi. For the price of this hotel, I don't think it can be beat!

I stayed in Dublin with a friend for 4 nights at the Academy Plaza Hotel and we were very very happy with our room and the hotel! From the outside, the hotel doesn't look amazing, but as soon as you walked through the doors you are welcomed by a clean, modern and stylish lobby/reception area. I have to say - the woman that checked us in was not the most welcoming of women, and I wouldn't say she looked very rushed, but the check-in process was very quick and we were offered breakfast (although not included in our package) as we arrived in the early hours of the morning.
I can't comment much on the restaurant/breakfast area as we did not pay for food. However, I did take a look around the breakfast area and it looks clean and big enough to serve a good array of food. You can eat in the restaurant if you haven't paid for it in advance, but we ate in the city every night.
If you are lucky enough to get a room along the centre of the hotel then you are likely to get a room with a little added window area, which luckily we got! If not, the room would still be of good size but the added part was a bonus. We were just so surprised at the cleanliness and tidiness of the rooms and at how modern it all was.The bathroom was spotless and the rooms were cleaned everyday with a towel replacement and fresh sheets everyday.
You are also able to get complimentary items, such as dressing gowns, face flannels etc. There is also the option of room service which is not too expensive - average 12 euro for the meal and then 5 euro for the service charge.
The location of this hotel is AMAZING. You walked out the front door, turn right, (we were advised by our taxi driver not to turn left as nothing up there!) and you are bam right in the middle of O'Connell street within a 5 second walk.
Multiple Spars, Tesco stores etc scattered around for convenience. If you come from England - then O'Connell street is just like London, except not as busy and the people are much friendlier!
I would advice doing the Hop On Hop Off tour bus - Green is better than Red (again, advised by our taxi driver!). It costs 18 euros for a 2 day unlimited ticket and the stop is literally right outside the hotel, but the stops are scattered all round the place. The bus goes to key places such as the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Zoo, Church etc. Definitely worthwhile!
I only have two complaints about the hotel....
1. The walls are a little thin and unfortunately we had very loud neighbours for the duration of our stay - the doors are heavy and people leave them to slam and it shakes the whole wall. One night we had to move our beds away from the wall to try and get away from their noise! You could also hear their television.
2. There is a little pub below and slightly to the left of the hotel called the Living Room. We heard no noise from it until the Thursday night when they change the sports TV's into clubbing music and this went on until about 3am. It sounded very fun but our flight was the next day and we got very little sleep! I wish I had ear plugs with me.

Asides from this, we had a wonderful stay at this hotel and in Dublin - cannot recommend it enough purely for cleanliness and location!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 215 and the rooms in the same column above and below us had the extra window space...

We stayed in the Academy Plaza for our eight night stay in Dublin. We were pleased with the choice - the room was clean, modern and comfortable. By American standards the room was small but that is to be expected in Europe.

The room was clean and comfortable - the free wifi worked well which was important to us. We ere pleased with the bathroom and had no shortage of hot water.

The hotel was in a good location near to restaurants, shopping and sight seeing options. If you have no problem doing a little walking you can easily walk to tourist interests like Dublin Castle, Trinity College, the Old Library and the Book of Kells, St. Stephens Green, Christ Church Cathedral or St. Patrick's Cathedral.

If I had to nitpick for a negative it would be that the mattresses on the beds were merely okay or good - defiantly not great.

Room Tip: If wifi is important to you then you may want to choose a room near a router. The router was outsid...

This hotel is right off O'Connell street which is a main tourist destination. Watch out turning left out of the lobby doors, the street behind seemed a bit sketchy. An open top tour bus picks up directly across the street as well as the direct 747 airport bus which is super handy. The hotel is clean but a bit dated. Our first room was on the top floor with a view of dublin. Unfortunately someone had smoked in that room so we requested a change. While we got upgraded to a larger family room free of charge, we had to forgo the view for space. Not ideal but at least we didn't have to pay the difference on the upgrade. Our room did not include breakfast, I thought the best western pluses always had breakfast included perhaps this is only a North American luxury. The hotel nickelled and dimed a bit which was annoying. Local calls out of the room cost .80€, printing at the front dest was 1€/page and there was only the multi use squeeze bottle in the shower for amenities. Overall the hotel was ok with pleasant customer service and a good location.

Room Tip: Try to get a top floor or at least an outside facing room. Some of the rooms face into a very small...
