Was very happy with my stay at the Ashling recently. It's just a stones throw from Heuston and the nearest Luas stop so for the first time ever on a trip to Dublin I didn't have to get so much as one taxi! Very pleased with that alone and to be honest I found the hotel to be great value will definitely stay again on my next visit. The room we were in was very spacious and pristine with complimentary wifi which was also a bonus. This hotel has undertaken a gigantic facelift over the last few years and is now a lovely, modern place to stay very close to the centre of Dublin. The only drawback was the rainforest shower in our room was blocked and the maintenance man couldn't come until the Monday (we had checked in from Saturday to Tuesday) so that was a bit of a disappointment. We had been offered another room on the Sunday but as we were already enroute to a night out in Dublin at the time and wouldn't be back til late we didn't take them up on it. On mentioning the shower issue on check out we were given a discount which was very much appreciated. I usually stay in a different hotel on visits to Dublin but sadly it looks like they may have lost my custom as in future I can't see any reason not to stay at the Ashling. It offers much more than my usual hotel ie wifi in room, proximity to city centre and Heuston, lovely fresh modern rooms, and all for the same price. The only downside is that we could hear the traffic around Dublin as a low hum in the background all night but that can't be helped and didn't really take away from our stay. Will be back!

As a birthday treat for my partner we arranged to go to Dublin for a few days and chose this hotel as it had a 3 nights for the price of 2 deal. Generally hotels chosen because of a deal aren't the most impressive but this hotel was lovely.
The ground floor area is large, clean and welcoming. The restaurant serves excellent food.
Our bedroom had a floor to ceiling window with a lovely view of the river, a huge television, a massive and very comfy bed and a stunning bathroom with large bath.
The location is perfect as it is close to all sight seeing places and is right next to the tourist bus stop which takes you to all of the sights.
The most impressive aspect of this hotel is the GREAT service, any request we had was done for us within the hour.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We were guests of the NRRI for their bi annual symposium at this great hotel. The rooms were spacious and quiet ( we were inside block). No views on first two days but were upgraded to view over Liffey for last night. The staff were very helpful when we needed assistance with the conference room and to make arrangements for other guests. We had lots of options for parking spaces and it was free as we were staying. The bar and restaurant offered a great range of meals from bar snacks to buffet carvery at lunch time. Full breakfast - lots of options from continental to full cooked/ fruit/ meats etc. Tram stop just along from Hotel so easy access to Temple bar area and shops. Ten minutes walk to Guiness Storehouse - brilliant views over all of Dublin.

We weren't sure what to expect after travelling around Ireland & staying at less then satisfactory hotels. The Ashling was wonderful! The location is great for doing touristy type of things in Dublin. It's about a 15-20 min walk to the Guinness Storehouse were the you can take a tour & enjoy a pint. We could see the Sky Bar from our room! We took the tram to O'Connell Street & back to the hotel for 2.90 EU which is much cheaper than the Hop on Hop off bus if all your going to do is a few things. There is a small Museum right by the tram stop which is free.

We ate at both the restuarant & bar. All 3 of our meals at the restuarant were very good. The bar food was not. Our waitress was new & was totally overwhelmed. It took us over a 1/2 hour to get our sandwiches after she finally waited on us. One table had to reorder their food as their order was never turned in.

My only complaint about the 2 nights we spent there was our room was never cleaned. We left at 8am & didn't return until after 3 & our room was never touched.

We stayed here because of a special offer but we weren't disappointed. The hotel was clean and well sized with nice showers, comfy beds and black out curtains (we overslept everyday). The ameneties were good and there was no noise.

There was a sign in our room apologising for the temporary glitch in the WiFi but it worked fine anyway and the TV and in-room safe were as stated.

The only downsides to this place are that the hotel is a 10-15min walk from the centre (although a safe walk down the Liffey) and the staff weren't rude but weren't particularly forthcoming either.

New hotel with very polite and attentive staff. The bar is very well layed out and the bar food is very good indeed.
The restaurant is good value for a hotel of this standard.
Although some of the rooms are a little small and can have no view they are clean and tidy and adequate in every way.
The Luas tram stops just a few yards away with regular trams into the city centre. Hueston station and the airport bus are 100 yards away. Phoenix park is a short walk.
We will stay there again. PS look for special offers.
