Great location, two minute walk from the Luas station and about 20 minute walk from the city centre. New hotel, been revampled. We got one of the old rooms while our friends got one of the new rooms (even though we paid the same). Staff very, very friendly, except for one young woman (not Irish) at reception who was very rude. Twice. Want to believe it was not because we were a gay couple.we didn't complain as I don't want her to to lose her job, but it's a pity that she blackens the name of all the other incredibly helpful staff. Would stay here again. Bus to airport also just across the road.

We had friends visiting us from Western Australia who's ancestors were from Dublin, so a trip there was on their agenda.
We booked the hotel on the internet by using the reviews as a guide and we were not let down. This is a great hotel with lovely decor. We loved all the wonderful modern
multi-coloured fabrics in the furnishings which all complimented each other. We indulged between us in both the Continental and Full Breakfasts which were of excellent quality. The fruits, yogurts and meats being fresh and the bacon and eggs, etc were cooked to perfection. (and there was ample)
Car parking was free and the location on the outskirts of Dublin suited us. There is a tram running regularly past the front of the hotel, taking about 10mins to the centre. You do hear the whoosh sound as it passes but no more than that. I thought the trams gave the area a continental feel.
We chose the superior king room which was just that. A comfortable big room with a great new bathroom. There was a large mirror just above above sit up height, fitted into a dark wood headboard along with the chrome switch plates and also a further large mirror on the opposite wall above the work desk. Two comfortable chairs and table sat in the window and overlooked the small park at the front. Dare I say, a great bedroom for a romantic get away!!!
Staff were always attentive and the maitre d' ran a tight ship ensuring top notch service.
All in all a great long weekend at this fine hotel one I would definitely return to and recommend.

The hotel has been completely refurbished and it is now the best value in town; a short hop on the luas to the city centre, or a nice walk along the river. The rooms are spotless, the bed very comfortable, huge bathroom and we had a stunning view of the park across the road. Even though our room was on the front of the hotel facing the busy quays, we didn’t hear a sound all night. They must have spent a fortune on soundproofing and it is very effective!

Great value for a night in Dublin for a concert, or to sightsee and shop. Free parking, lovely breakfast, don’t bother with anything else, just stay here.

The restaurant in Ryans of Parkgate Street is also worth a trip. Its just two minutes walk from the hotel.

Better than expected. This hotel was not in the recommended list of the guide book, but we loved it. The decor is fantastic, and our room was the best of the whole trip. Free car park included. Very nice food from the restaurant. Good value.
A little out of town, but the tram stop is just outside and it's a very pleasant ride alongside the river directly to the City Centre. Good location for the Guiness Brewery and the zoo.

We were desperate to find a room, any kind of room, in a city welcoming a U2 concert.
We were not attending the concert, we were stuck with our dates, since we already had airline tickets. Finally we found a room at the Best Western Ashling, high rates because of the concert. But I thought "what are we getting into" since it was the last room in the city. Modern, new, sleek, georgeos, clean, friendly, everything a central hotel can offer and more. The hotel is situatated right infront of the tram; 5 minutes to town, 20 minutes to the airport, next door to the National Museum, 5 minutes walk to the main rail station Euston Station. Location is NOT an issue. Security like we have never encounter anywhere . The restaurant staff was so friendly, especially Maria, our servers, one from Pozna, Poland, and the other from China, friendly and smart, never an empty cup or glass.
We will return and this is going to be our next hotel.

My friends and I stayed at the Ashling Hotel, Dublin (Best Western) on Saturday (25th July) while attending the U2 concert and we found their attention to detail there “second to none”, they even taught to hand out “Survival Pack” that included Bottled Water, Mars Bar and a must have “Disposable Raincoat”. The Ashling Hotel is newly refurbished ,the Foyer, Bar and Restaurant are Luxurious, Spacious with Bright Warm Colours, the Bar Food and Staff were Top Class, while Dining later we found the Restaurant and Food Superb. The Bedrooms are also Refurbished to a Very High Standard and we topped our stay of with Breakfast in Bed another positive experience, beautiful and everything is Spotlessly Clean but without fuss and that is why I felt it was a “home from home experience”

So all in all it is a close to call between the Ashling or U2, apologies lads but I will have to hedge towards the Ashling if for no other reason than we found a Excellent Hotel, Centrally and Strategically Located (beside the Lucas and Heuston Train Station) that ticks all the boxes and I would strongly recommend anyone going to our capital for business or leisure to try the Ashling Hotel you will not be disappointed!
