“Wonderful stay”
Reviewed June 14, 2013

I recently stayed here with a friend in a twin room. The room was nice and had everything we needed. For a while we could hear everything the people next door were saying cos they were v loud but thankfully they went out! Breakfast was outstanding - the best choice I've seen in a long time! They had everything you could think of. Good atmosphere in the bar in the evening. Well located for Heuston station too.

My wife and I stayed at the Ashling whilst on a 3 night weekend trip to Dublin. I spoke to reservations and the very friendly lady upgraded us to a superior delux room (for a fee) as I said the trip was for a special occassion.

Bedroom was very spacious, especially the bathroom (understand that we paid that little bit more, but from the looks of it this standard applied across all the rooms). All the normal facilities included in the room, main perk of the superior delux was the floor to ceiling window overlooking the river, station and the Guiness Storehouse.

Hotel's facilities were great, bar/lounge area was very comfortable and the food was good for snacking. The breakfast was brilliant, loads of choice and the staff were very helpful and offered assistance if we needed anything. All staff from the reception, bar to restaurant were really friendly.

Location was ideal for things like Phoenix Park, Guiness Storehouse, Kilmainham Gaol, Old Jameson Distillery all in walking distance.

Literally across the road from Heuston train station. Which had brilliant bus links straight into Temple bar & City centre. I would suggest taking the bus into Temple bar as it is a 20-25min walk from the hotel. But not a big deal as we bought a 3 day bus pass for €15 which did the trick!

I would definitely recommend this hotel to couples, families and friends looking for a weekend away in Dublin. Although it is slightly further out from the city centre and places like Temple Bar. It only takes a 5 minute bus ride or a €8 taxi to get you to the buzz of the city.

Would definitely stay again!

Stayed for 3 nights in March with 2 friends. We had a family room which was a double bed and a single. Was a tight fit was 3 girls getting ready for a night out but we managed. The hotel was beautiful, lovely cocktails from the bar and staff were very pleasent and welcoming.

Tram link just miniutes away which took to where you needed to go. (shopping, bars, clubs all no more than 10 euro away in a taxi tho).
The food in the hotel was amazing! Breakfast every morning, loads of choice and plenty seats. We ate in the restutrant one night.. was just top notch! The bar had great snacks and sandwhich choice's available.

Will be returning hopefully in the near future.

We went for 3 nights and had a ball. The staff on reception were so friendly. The food overall was beautiful. The room was big and we had lots of space for all our things. Location was great, within walking distance of the Guiness factory (amazing Guinness Stew mmmmm) and a very short tram journey to temple bar.
