“Perfect base for Dublin stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2013

Our family of four had a really nice stay at the hotel in late july 2013. Very close to Dublin but without the big city hassle. Good atmosphere and a lot of history in the area. Our family room could have been larger, but was sufficient.

I would highly recommend Clontarf Castle to anyone! It was lovely and perfectly balanced modern and medieval. Accommodations were superb; they even had US outlets at the proper voltage to charge my electronics. The grounds are beautiful & peaceful! Highly recommend!

Our room in this castle was very nice and was extremely modernized. The restaurant was also great. The staff was helpful and everything went smoothly. Not much bad to say other than there is not much in walking distance to eat or see.

my son and daughter in law were flying back to Australia & she had always wanted to stay in a castle. I booked this hotel as a surprise and what a delightful place. Everything was perfect. Beds were so comfortable and the food in the Fahrenheit restaurant was superb. We really enjoyed our stay and will definately be back.

Our family of 6 spent two wonderful evenings ( 21-22 July2013)...From the moment we arrived in the lobby , the staff was extremely cordial with their welcome and room arrangements...The breakfeast buffet had a very good selection of tasteful food...
Whenever we seen a hotel staff member passing by they would ask how were our accomodations and was there any thing they could do for us ...
The entire staff was truely caring and considerate of their quest...
The hotel facility is a great blending of history and moden times...
We traveld 10 days through Ireland by auto and stayed at 6 hotels...Clontarf was the best of the lot !!!

Driving up the road to get there is beautiful and 1st sighting is as beautiful as the pictures on the internet. My 4 yr old grandson kept saying he'd see knights in a castle on our Ireland trip and what greets us in the entry, but 3 suits of armor. This was our first stay and will be our only place to go in Dublin from now on. Three families including 4 young children thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. The buiilding is exquisite--fairy tales, shining armor, gold lions, gold encrusted mirrors, brocade hangings, little rooms near the dining area for kids & grown ups to get lost in imaginations of yesteryear. Rooms spotless and comfortable. Food good. The staff was tremendous. Every single person we came in contact with, but a special shout out to Chris Judge, the very hard working, yet always personable, concierge -- and to the wonderful server who took our meal order and brought our food to the "side room" on Friday July 19th. I will add that though there were no kids' activities per se, they were welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed their stay.

My husband had not seen photographs of the hotel before we arrived and his face lit up when he saw it. We stayed 4 nights and he never stopped smiling. We ate in the two restaurants and in the Bar and the food was great. We found the staff extremely pleasant and very helpful and our stay at Clontarf Castle was a delightful experience .
