We stayed here in April for a couple of days ('we' being myself, daughter, son in law and 15 month old granddaughter) and really enjoyed our stay. The members of staff were helpful and pleasant, the rooms were spotless and the restaurant had a good ambience. We found the location ideal and felt the prices were fair. We had to catch an early ferry on the day of departure and the staff arranged for us to have a breakfast trays in our rooms, which helped us off to a good start. See you again next year!

Our first trip to Dublin, we ( and our dog) drew up outside the hotel unsure about the area. However we stepped inside and found a beautiful space, full of light, plants and original paintings. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful, and gave us what must have been well- worn advice on how to get into Dublin central, about ten minutes away by bus. In the evening we ate in the hotel restaurant. The food was very good and there were vegetarian choices. The table service by young friendly staff was excellent. Breakfast was absolutely great with greek yoghurt, fresh fruit, Irish soda bread as well as a delicious cooked breakfast on offer. The bedroom itself was well appointed and everything to a good standard. Nice tiled floors meant we didn't have to worry about dog hairs. Only one disappointment. Outside our bedroom window was a brick wall! Someone had manfully painted it to liven it up, but even so, a brick wall right outside the window is bound to limit the amount of light the room gets. Anyway, we would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Enquire about the view from the room.

Stayed at the Uppercross House Hotel near Dublin for two nights and enjoyed it very much. The connecting bar is superb, great atmosphere and really good food, glad we ate there as would certainly recommend it. Great pint of Guinness too! Rooms are very clean, spacious; tea and coffee provided. Only a short tram ride into the city, it could be walked but the trams are cheap and every ten minutes from only a couple of streets away from the hotel.

This place has a great atmosphere with all its nooks and crannies, and countless staircases. It has a very cozy feel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great and adaptable to personal needs. The room was spacious, well equipped, clean and in good condition. The wifi internet connection was good. The location is good and it is easy to catch a bus to go downtown. There are several restaurants, fast food places and other shops close by.
The staff did not seem as knowledgeable about tourist attractions and transport as in other places. The view of my room was not great (wall of the neighboring house) but they made the best of it, by covering it with a colorful mural. A repair issue that I reported was not dealt with before my departure (maybe because it was a weekend).

Stayed on a saturday night recently, agree with most comments. This little hotel is in the lovely rathmines district and although quaint and quirky, staff are friendly, pub is great and I had as good a breakfast as I've had anywhere Coffee is available in pleasant lounge ,nice beer garden out the back, little balcony at front to sit with a drink..Did"nt have evening meal but I would recommend this hotel to anybody who likes a bit of character.Just please do not expect modern, plastic, wine bar Hilton type environmentas it is none of these but if you like a bit of craic only a few minutes from town centre ,would highly recommend and I will use again when in Dublin.

For the first time staying in a hotel in Europe I was very frightened about bathroom sharing and quality, but this hotel FAR surpasses places I've stayed in America! It's so close to many places to eat away from tourist traps, but the buses are VERY easy to use to get downtown in 10 minutes. Free hot breakfast cooked to order and a restaurant in the hotel. Front desk will help you as far to even draw a map to your destination!
