The packed breakfast we ordered was horrible.
The location is good and so were the views from the room . Beds comfortable and telly good.
The bar closes very early. There is a vending machine which dispenses water chocolates and umbrella , dental hygiene pack good
There was one of a regulars at the bar very annoying drunk

This is a 3 star hotel and it just about measures up. The food in the bar during the evening was good and the service was fine. Breakfast was awkward, most of the staff seemed to be in the kitchen listening to music while we were left to fend for ourselves - toast, tea, coffee etc. A word of warning check that breakfast is included in whatever rate you get because if it is not included you will have to fork out an €15 for your bacon and sausages. Fairly noisy in the mornings. I am not sure that I'd rush back to the Tara Towers

Booked the hotel with a view to its convenience for the RDS and Aviva Stadia. Hadn't also realised at the time but it is also actually quite convenient if you are travelling to Dublin by car ferry as its only a 10-15 minute drive from Dublin Port without driving through the city centre. Also quite convenient for access to and from Dun Laoghaire.
The hotel itself is rated 3 star and to be honest it's nothing more, nothing less. Perfectly clean and comfortable, friendly staff, decent sized rooms but it just feels a little dated and could do with a facelift. Only ate breakfasts at the hotel, which were again perfectly adequate but nothing to get excited over. Decent and popular bar.
it is quite a way out of Dublin centre - 20-25 minutes by bus which stops right outside the hotel. Alternatively the nearest DART station, Booterstown is a 5-10 minutes walk away. Convenient for the Aviva Stadium and Pearse/Tara Street railway stations for Dublin city centre. Consider it is as a stopover for the aforementioned venues, otherwise you would be better looking for a good hotel deal closer to town

Room Tip: Try to get one at the front of the hotel on upper floors for a view of Dublin bay.

I stayed at Tara Towers recently to go to a concert (Great location if going to the o2) I would like to thank the staff at Tara Towers for making this possibly the most pleasant stay I have ever had in a hotel. From the minute we got through the door to the minute we left we were greeted with the highest levels of customer care. The room was clean, spacious well equipped and the beds are extremely comfortable! Had a room at the front which had some beautiful views. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. Special thanks to Leigha and Barry who could not have been more helpful and made this stay so enjoyable!!

This is a modern hotel with all the usual facilities. The bar staff were pleasant and freindly , and the bar comfortable and well stocked. Food was basic and served without charm or organisation.
The bedroom was spacious , and the beds very comfortable, but the carpet was badly stained and the furniture though serviceable looked a bit careworn . The bathroom was a wee bit small , but everything worked .
Overall an adequate rather than an overwhelming experience

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel have a lovely view of Dublin bay , and were relatively quiet

We stayed in this hotel as for whatever reason, hotels in the city centre were almost fully booked and charging crazy prices. It is clean and functional, but I wouldnt be in a rush back here again. Free parking is provided and the hotel is on several bus routes into town. We didnt have breakfast here so I can't comment on the quality of the food. Staff at reception were friendly.

If I found myself in the same predicament again, I would stay here.

Stayed here 5th May 2013. This hotel is situated around 4km from Dublin City Centre and is in a quiet yet populated part of the area. It is your typical hotel, 5 to 7 floors with prices ranging from 60Euro per room per night. Grand and up-market large reception / hall entrance. Room was clean, spacious well equipped and the beds are extremely comfortable. ONLY downside was the extremely noisy extractor fan in the bathroom.
If you book to stay here why not ask specifically for a room to the front - it overlooks the Irish sea - what a view!
Staff - VERY friendly and very helpful. Bar and restaurant (PJ's) attached with possibly the cheapest drinks in Dublin (Expensive City due to the Euro)

Room Tip: Ask for sea view on the top floor
