“Good Comfortable Location”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

We arrived at the hotel at half 2 after walking the streets of Dublin since 9am and we were checked in. Upon arrival on the allocated room we were meet with the horrible site of feces in the toilet. Quite clearly the bathroom had not been cleaned and we immediately left the room and straight back down to reception. The girl working at reception couldn't have been more helpful. Straight away she was very apologetic and allocated us another room. The room was basic in decor and could do with being updated. Not that we were here to watch TV but the TV was something like in 90's. Thankfully this room was spotless clean and the bed was comfortable for a nights sleep. The breakfast served in the morning was very good with a wide selection and set you up perfectly for the day ahead. Another good point about the hotel was the location, right in the heart of the city easy to walk to all the main tourist sites, restaurants etc.

My husband and I stayed here on our last 3 nights in Ireland. Unfortunately, this was the worst of all the places we stayed at, and really, the most it has going for it is location. Location is ideal. Our room was very dated and ordinary with a view of the middle roof. It looked nothing like the pictures on their website. As stated by others, the walls are thin, and noise from the hallway & other rooms carried. The bathroom was rather stark and also dated, and when you sat on the toilet, you felt like you were sitting partly under the counter. The hot water faucet only trickled water. No washcloths at all. When I inquired about this, I was told none of the hotels furnish them. When I argued every other place we had stayed at in Ireland, including B&B's had them, I was then told only 4 star hotels and above furnish them. Therefore, this place is no better than 3 stars. Breakfasts were good & the staff in there was pleasant. The show was great, but the food just okay considering the price. On our last day there was a gal at the reception desk who went beyond the call of duty when she let me come behind the desk to check in & print out my boarding passes for our flight. Otherwise, you have to pay to use the computer in the lobby area. I was very grateful for her kindness!! The Hop On Hop Off bus stop is right outside their door, so this is also a plus. If you are looking for location & convenience and an ordinary room to sleep in with moderate noise & no wash cloths, then this is the place to stay.

This hotel is perfectly situated right in the heart of the city & close by the river. The room we had was clean & generally well equipped. (Have to say we could hear the people next door & also there was a shortage of tea/coffee in the room.) This however is a minor niggle & overall the hotel represented very good value. On the second night we had a superb 3 course meal downstairs & watched the Irish band & Irish dancers. I'd say this is a must if you're staying at this hotel & certainly rounded off our first ever trip to the wonderful city of Dublin. Breakfasts are excellent & the service from the very friendly staff helped to make this a great stay.

It was our first night after a flight from the US and then all day touring in Dublin. The hotel was fine - but not where I would stay again. We got a room that overlooked an alley that had what looked to be the doors to another bar next door - lots of noise from there and the music from the dinner show on the first floor wafted up to our room as well. The bed was not exactly comfy - but not horrible. The bathroom was ok - but the tub/shower combo was so slippery without a bath mat that it was dangerous. It was clean but could use a little updating. Spacious room for Europe. Internet was really spotty everywhere but in the hotel lobby. Not sure how much it cost- as this was booked as part of a package. They held our luggage for us all day while we were out touring, all went smoothly with that.

Breakfast in the morning was more than ample and there was both hot and cold dishes to choose from. Two weeks later we returned and stayed elsewhere, but went to the dinner show. That food was very marginal, but the band was quite good and the dancers were fine. The service for our table was not that good once she knew we were not ordering alcohol.... :(

Room Tip: Second floor you can still hear the music from the dinner show on the ground level - might try highe...

very friendly staff on checking in,even though they were very busy. the room was basic but clean and comfortable. my request for extra pillows was immediately acted on. our window looked out on a back yard but no problem for one night. the hotel is very central and is always buzzing. i was a little worried when i returned as there was music and the bar was very packed.no need to worry,it soon quietened down and i enjoyed a comfortable and peaceful nights sleep. the breakfast was very good, indeed better than many i have had in superior hotels.
although in need of refurbishment, the arlington offers good value for money in a superb location .

first time in Dublin, what a fantastic hotel, we took our mum back to her roots for her 80th birthday and stayed in a 4 bed room which was huge, the staff couldn't do more if you asked them to, breakfast was fantastic, unfortunately i had my purse stolen the first night, by pick pockets, the hotel night staff was fantastic ringing the police and helping me to cancel my cards while supplying plenty of tea and sympathy. will defiantly be going back to this hotel in the future. and would not hasten to recommend to anyone going to Dublin in the near future. word of warning be careful going over hapenny bridge, as there is not cctv on it and its where i was robbed.

Small room but does the exact job you need it to! I absolutely loved the location of this hotel! I seemed to have lost my sense of direction in Ireland & staying here you're within a 2 minutes walk to everything & still know how to get to your bed!!
