I felt somewhat little disappointed, thought it would have been better based on the reviews. We had an authentic Spanish singer singing on the night, she had a great voice but I thought the place was too small for her voice, when she was singing you couldn't really talk across the dinner table which was a shame, the service was a little hit and miss, but still the food was delivered promptly. Some of the dishes were nice but some of them i though could have been better. It wasn't that expensive, i probably would go back again to give it a go, but not immediately.

Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to post a review and sorry to hear we didnt give you the Viva experience you were expecting.
As it was Valentines weekend we offered for the first time a set menu for two at a great price and had never worked a menu like that before. With 99 percent of the tables being couples on the night too there were a few hiccups with our service for which I apologise.

However our Flamenco performer being well renowned in Spain for her tallent was an added bonus for most and she sang on both levels giving a very intimate, heartfelt and we thought unique experience to the event.
I dont know if you notified your waiter on the night of the issue, but if we had known we would have tried to move you to a table further away so you could chat more freely as we always strive to look after our customers needs as much as we can.

All our food is homemade and being of the ethos "Mi casa es su casa" (our house is your house) again we would have hoped if anything wasnt to your taste or not to the standard you expected we of course would have loved the oportunity to rectify the matter right there and then.

We hope that if you decide to return you will have no hesitation of making yourself at home and get the Viva experience we strive to give.

Fyi every thursday we have live Spanish music and song but its performed on the ground floor level so if you prefer we can sit you away from or downstairs so you can enjoy a more private conversation.
Kind regards,
Gareth

Four of us ate here last evening and it was absolutely lovely. The food taste, quality and price was comparable to a very good tapas restaurant in Spain. There was live music provided by Sensi Falan who is very good. The staff were very attentive. Close your eyes and you're in Spain. We will be back a lot. Enjoy!!

I came upon this place on a recent visit to Dublin and decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed and had a good selection of tapas including the Paella which was great. They have a good wine selection also and it is a great place to relax with friends and sample their authentic dishes. The waiter was busy but he was very friendly. I will certainly return in the future.

Yesterday evening I had the most delightful evening at the charming Viva restaurant in Dublin, where the staff were just so great, attentive and natural. There were 2 spanish guitarists which gave it a lovely atmosphere and as you'd expect, the wine was good! We ordered 5-6 tapas between two and the whole experience was a beautiful taste explosion, but the chorizo was the highlight - it just melted in my mouth! The waiter even took me down to the kitchen to chat to his "mama" who is the chef and she told me it was slow-cooking for 4 hours - you could tell when you ate it, it oozed flavour! YUM YUM YUM! Will definitely be going back! Its seriously good value too, great prices!

As can already be seen by all the positive reviews, this place is fab!! The relaxed atmosphere, great staff and gorgeous food all add up to a great night! Had tapas - 5 plus some bread between my friend and I…was plenty! And a generous sized jug of sangria - beautiful! Loved it.
