We stayed here with our 3 year old and my 75 year old mother-in-law. We booked a 2 bedroom penthouse suite, but were upgraded to the huge, sunny and comfortable 3 bedroom penthouse suite because the guests in the 2 bedroom suite decided to extend their stay. I can honestly say that we considered doing the same after our lovely stay here. Make no mistake this is an efficiency apartment not a full service hotel. There is no elevator, so be prepared to walk up 3 flights of stairs if you stay in suites 9 - 12. This was fine for my husband, daughter and I but my mother-in-law came to dread the stairs toward the end of our stay

We found the all female staff extremely helpful in pointing us into the right direction for good restaurants, pubs and shopping. (I recommend Marks and Spenser Food Hall for breakfast items and wine. ) When we checked in, there was already coffee, tea and cereal in the apartment. We asked for extra towels and got them within 15 minutes! The beds were good not fabulous, but comfortable after a long day sightseeing. The showers were great once you turned on the booster for high pressure and we spiked the heat a little as Dublin in July is pretty chilly by New York standards. Housekeeping cleans every third day, unless you make other arrangements, but we happily made our own beds.

The apartments are centrally located in a very safe part of town I saw as equivalent to New York's Upper Eastside. Downstairs (though not affiliated with the Suites) is the well regarded restaurant, One Pico, which had a delicious Sunday Lunch pre fixe. It is a 5 - 10 minute walk to St. Stephen's Green, Trinity College, Temple Bar and Merrion Park. Taxis abound and there is parking right off the lobby.

We were given a discount voucher for 12% off room rates good through next year and given our very pleasant experience, we will use it.

Other reviewers give a disproportional weight to location for this property. There are plently of hotels in Dublin city. They also say it's great for a group. But other places can accomodate a group too. If you read between the lines on other reviews you will see that this has not been modernised in years and years and years! There is no view anywhere. The 'penthouse' is not a penthose at all. It's a dirty old balcony looking out to an extractor fan from a very busy restaurant. Save your money for a place that values its customers by not taking all their money and putting none back in. The front desk person, when there are there, are nice but still, that does not excuse this property for shabby carpets, stains everywhere and ancient bathrooms.

The 3 bedroom penthouse in Molesworthcourt Suites was refurbished just over a year ago,All of the furniture has been replaced ,with most of it imported from Italy and in some cases made especially for us, an interior designer was commissioned to oversee and complete the work , with all carpets replaced and all wooden floors replaced newly. So it is impossible to imagine what happened or upset this client as we have recieved the height of praise for the penthouse and the fact that it has been completely renovated so recently.
The stairway carpets and landings are in the proces of being replaced and we hope to have that completed soon.I canb only imagine that it is perhaps these carpets that were in mind, we do take care to makes sure that the building is kept clean to a very high standard!
In relation to scenery/views, i think that most people who intend to stay in the heart of a very busy city center dont expect to have a panoramic view or scenery from their window or rooftop garden, The beautiful Dawson street, well part of can be seen from the rooftop terrace as can the beautiful Mansion House where our Lord Mayor of Dublin resides.
We apologise if anyones stay has been in any way disapointing and very much appreciate that we be made aware of it during someones stay so we can address the situation immediately!

We ended our Ireland holiday with a visit to Dublin and spent a wonderful long weekend at Molesworth Court Suites.

Our young adult daughter is studying in England and we (parents and other daughter) met her in Ireland for a two week holiday. Toured Ireland by hired auto then dropped the auto at the Dublin airport and took the AirCoach bus into Dublin City from the airport on Friday and departed Dublin the following Monday morning returning on the Air Coach bus.

The AirCoach bus stops (at Kildare Street when arriving Dublin City, and Dawson Street when returning to airport) are a very short walk from the hotel and couldn't be more convenient.

Two friends from our daughter's graduate program (one from Spain, and the other from The Netherlands) were flying in from England to join us for the weekend. Because there were 6 of us total we rented the 3-bedroom penthouse suite which easily accommodated us.

The lower floor has an entry hallway that leads to the three bedrooms and two baths The Master bedroom has Queen bed and ensuite bath with sauna; the other two bedrooms (one double bed and other twin beds) share a full bath in the hall.

Upstairs there is a LARGE living area (the furniture was very comfortable) with an additional smaller sitting area, a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen that also has a typically European combination washing machine/dryer. We did use the washer/dryer and it functioned well.

A large patio is located off the living area. Unfortunately, the weather that weekend did not permit us to use it (lots of rain and strong winds).

The staff is very friendly and helpful. When checking in the manager stocks the kitchen with milk, juice, breakfast cereal, etc. to get you started. The apartment has all the usual staples (salt, sugar, dishwashing liquid, laundry soap) which was not the case in an apartment we rented in the West of Ireland earlier that week.

We made full use of the kitchen for breakfast each day and made dinner in the apartment on our last night in Dublin.

The location is FABULOUS. Within walking distance to most of central Dublin. We took a cab only once in order to visit the Irish Museum of Modern Art.

The apartment did exhibit some "wear and tear" that is typical for rental properties and hotels, but I did a significant amount of research for our holiday and there is NOWHERE else I found that all six of us could have been together and had as much space and comfort for the price, especially in this central location.

I highly recommend Molesworth Court Suites.

Molesworth Court Suites has a very good location, very friendly staff, and very nice appartments. As Norwegians, it was fun to see that the "neighbours" in the building opposite was the Norwegian Embassy!

We have only one negative remark, and that is that it was too litte hot water to shower in the evening 2 out of 3 days of our stay. But just shower or bath in the morning, and it will be OK. Be also aware that electricity must be paid in addution. For a 3-4 days stay, it should be around 20 euros.

Molesworth Court Suites is a great place to stay in Dublin. The location is fantastic, no need to take taxis in and out of the city .. you are close to everything! Riona and Deirdre are wonderful - friendly and accomodating. The suites was very clean with everything we needed. The location is very quiet. My husband and my two sons stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and we had plenty of room.

I stayed here for a Six Nations weekend and I must say I was over the moon with the location, accomadation, service and value. Dublin is a very expensive city and there are definatly two parts, the South side (Grafton St. etc) and the North side, if one had the choice then the South side is the place to stay. Molesworth Court is located just off Grafton Street, one of the coolest and trendiest streets in Dublin. There is every shop one could imagine and there are loads of bars and places to eat.
when I first looked at where to stay the South side was very expensive and then I found Molesworth which when one compares it was excellent value. The people who run it could not be nicer they were so helpful prior to our visit and could not have done more for us when we were there.
This is a real jem in the heart of the place to be in Dublin. If you want great accomadation, reasonable rates and very freindly service then look no further than here. We will be goig back for sure. If I were to rate it overall I would give it 10 / 10.

We are 4 mid 20's females from the UK and stayed at Molesworth Court for 6 nights over the New Year.

From booking the accommodation back in May 2008, the staff have been wonderful and gone out of their way to be helpful. We were lucky enough to be upgraded from a 1 bed apartment to a 2 bed apartment, and although the reception may not be managed 24/7, we were given a mobile number of the manager, and there is also a staff member living in one of the apartments who was more than accommodating when we had to disturb them at 7am one morning!

We were given a tour of the apartment, and given a choice of 2 to choose from. We were given extra towels and a clothes horse when we asked for one, and the checkout time has been flexible to fit in with our flight.

The only negatives would be that there is no lift, not a problem for us, and it is advertised on their website, but may be a pain for the elderly or those with young children (or a lot of luggage!). It would have been nice to have our sheets changed half way through our stay, however, I am sure if we had have got around to asking, they would have done so immediately.

The location is extremely central, and not at all hard to find. 3rd right off Kildare Street, simple, and there is secure parking available. Wireless, a welcome pack of milk, cereal, preserves, orange juice. Not at all disapointed and would definately look forward to staying here again.

After comparing rates for Molesworth Court, hotel rooms, B&B's, and even hostels, you really cant compare and the self catering and apartment like facilities mean you can live as normally as possible during your stay and not have to eat out all of the time, and do washing as and when you need it rather than going home with a suitcase of dirty laundry!

Thanks to the wonderful staff and to all of their help during our stay.
