Reception and personnel was very pleasant. The noise outside lasted until 4am and at 7am the first trucks came to drop off their goods. So, not very much sleep...The breakfast was more than sufficient.

Among other issues bed was less comfortable than the cobbled streets outside, no parking, no wifi, tv didn't work, smelt of urine throughout.

I think you know there's an issuewhen the staff don't bother to ask how your stay was on checkout.

Don't ever stay here

Myself and a friend stayed there for one night march 2014. It is extremely close to the main shopping streets and was only a short stroll to the Luas! The staff were lovely and very chatty and kept our bags for us the owing day whe we did our shopping although we had checked out! It's definately not a place for a romantic weekend away etc. just because the rooms are very small and in need of a lot of refurbishing but it's ideal for a one night stay. Basically just somewhere to sleep that's close to everything. It's great value but due to the club downstairs it is loud at night time! We're easy going though so we didn't take much notice and got over it!
Overall I thought it was a cheap room to stay in close to everything and must emphasize that the staff were lovely!!

There is only one reason why I gave two stars: It served our purpose of having a boys weekend away. It's right at the temple bar, so location is great. There is a "club" downstairs, which we utilised for a drink in-between. But seemed a bit dodgy as the night progresses.

I would never ever recommend this hotel for a stay other than: Go to bed completely wasted.

There was mould in the bathroom, electrical cable in the showers, mattresses were blood soaked, holes in the wall, toilets didn't flush properly, smell was awful, an old jacket left in the wardrobe, wardrobe almost falling apart etc. And the hallway stinker like p**s. It was just horrible.

This Hotel needs a full renovation.

Cheers

P.S We have been in the apartment belonging to the hotel, not directly in the hotel.

We have just returned from a great weekend break at the Riverhouse Hotel. Great location, friendly staff, great bar and live music. The rooms were clean but a bit small and could do with a decorate but if you are visiting Dublin you just need somewhere to put your head down. Yes there is a bit of noise in the rooms but hardly noticeable and you are in the heart of Temple Bar. We were offered a free breakfast on the first morning of fry up, toast and tea/coffee and the second morning we were only charged 6 euros each but well worth it. Give it a go, we weren't disappointed and the guiness was amazing.

This manager of this hotel should do either one of two things;

1. Fully renovate and decorate the entire place

or

2. Drop the room price to match its quality

Asking someone to pay more than 25euros a night to stay here is extortionate. I don't know if the manager/owner is keeping this hotel in this shape as they are getting away with it or they don't have the money to refurbish it.

A pleasant smile can only get so far.

Room Tip: pick a different hotel
