“Great location, helpful staff”
Reviewed July 13, 2010

stayed for 2 nights on a recent trip to Dublin. The location couldn't have been better and so easy to get to from the aircoach. We arrived very early and just wanted to leave our bags somewher to go exploring but instead we were checked in straight away and then given lots of advice about places to visit and how to get around. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. The rooms are very small though and during the hot weather it would be useful to have a fan because keeping the windows open is impossible for all the road noise. however all in all a good hotel in a good location, does waht it says clean room to but your head down between sightseeing.

We stayed for 4 nights at the days inn, the room was a bit on the small side but the staff were excellent and we got an early check in so nothing really to complain about, special thanks to Kinga who was a little star and nothing could be too much trouble for her. Patrick your staff are all excellent hope you look after them well. Hotel was in a brill location very easy to access the tour bus and its was good value also, to get around Dublin.

Days Inn Talbot Street was easy to locate and in my opinion, perfectly centrally located, just off O'Connell Street in Dublin. It was always easy to find our way back, as the Dublin Spire in the middel of O'Connell Street marked the point where we needed to turn to get to Talbot Street. We were 5-10 minutes walking distance from central Dublin locations like Trinity College, Grafton Street and St. Stephen's Green.

The service at the hotel was good, the room was clean and pleasant. While we were there, the advertised ice machine was broken, but the staff had ice brought to our room instead. For breakfast, there was a choice of cooked Irish breakfast, cereal or toast and jam. it was simple, but tasty.

The only downside to our stay was probably the noise level, as we had a room facing out onto Talbot Street, where there were several tourist shops playing music all day and fairly late into the evening, and quite a few loud people wandering past. This would not be a problem in the winter, as we didn't hear them when the window was closed. In a very warm period in June, however, we had to have the window open all day round.

The other thing that annoyed us was the internet connection. There was free wireless offered, but through an external provider, and it had to be renewed every 25-30 minutes, or the connection went. This was fiddly and often time-consuming, but better than not having to pay to use the hotel's computer.

Dear Reviewer,

Thank you for your review on Trip Advisor following your stay with us. I am delighted to see you enjoyed your stay and found your room comfortable and clean which we aspire to provide a high level of customer service. As we are a city centre hotel we will unfortunatley experience some level of street noise. We do ahve rooms at teh back which we can allocate should you be returning to Dublin in the future. We ahve since improved our Free Wi Fi service so it accessible for up to one hour now as this is controlled by an outside provider.

Kind Regards,
Patrick Carney,
General Manager.

I stayed with a friend in a twin room (room # 113) and had a pleasant stay at the Days Inn Talbot Street. Talbot Street is just two minutes walk from O'Conell Street and Henry Street that are two big and great streets for shopping and you won't have to walk more than a couple of minutes to find nice pubs and restaurants. Appr 10-15 min walk from Temple Bar.

Our room was not very spacious, but good enough for the moneys spent. We had some troubles with noice from the street during early mornings since the room is located over an Irish gift shop playing "The Irish Rover" from the speakers over and over again. The bed was comfortable. The housekeepers got us new and fresh towels everyday, but they never changed our glasses and coffee cups even though we had used it. The room was vacuum cleaned everyday and the bathroom was good, even though the water pressure was really bad sometimes and once I couldn't get hot water after my friend had used the shower.

We enjoyed the Days Inn Talbot Street's breakfast twice and had the Full Irish that costed 8,5 EUR per person. We got fresh toasts with marmelade, delicious yoghurts and cereals, juices, fresh and hot coffee (delicious coffee!) before we enjoyed our big plate of Irish specialties such as sausages and bacon, beans, fried och scrambled eggs, hash brown and fried tomatoes. It was tasty and we got much food for the money.

When we checked in, we were welcomed by a nice girl that made us feel really welcome and she helped us getting maps and directions for pubs and stores we wanted to visit. When we checked out another girl who also worked in the breakfast room was very nice and made sure we could keep our luggage in a safe place before we went to the airport. But we met a few other staff members that weren't very friendly and looked bothered and bored when we asked for someting or just went by and said hello. It made me feel ill at ease, I' sorry to say.

All in all - a good hotel with a great location and a great breakfast. The room was pleasant for the rate payed and we are definately staying at Days Inn Talbot Street next time we visit our favorite city in the world - Dublin!

Stayed here with my partner for a few nights after getting a good rate online. In the room we started out in, the bed broke! We'd both been sitting on it previously, so it's not like our weight was the issue. When I sat down on it later, it collapsed from under me, and I smacked my neck off the bedside table. Went down to the reception to ask for a new room. We were given a new room within no more than 15 minutes, probably less. I was offered to have a doctor called, and the man working on reception was apologetic, polite and courteous. After being transferred to another room, we were then offered free breakfasts for the 2 days of the trip, which I really wasn't expecting! I only wanted a different room because of the bed! Breakfast was very nice, the staff were all polite, friendly and helpful. Rooms were a little cramped, but spotless. All in all, I had a very pleasant stay in this hotel.

Had a great city break in Dublin. The hotel was good. Great location, very central. Very clean and excellent customer service from staff. Couldn't have asked for more. Great value for money. Would definitely stay in this hotel if we were returning to Dublin.
