“our 10 year olds favorite thing in Dublin”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

We just returned to Texas after spending Spring Break in Dublin and my daughter had found out about this tour while researching things for kids to do in Dublin online before we left. Thankfully we booked online as soon as we arrived as there weren't many spaces left available. She LOVED this tour and her dad and I enjoyed it as well! The video gave a brief history and we actually got to see some chocolates being made in the factory. There were 2 birthday parties in our group which meant a lot of kids so we had to make sure our daughter was still able to get to the front to see. The museum part felt a bit rushed-we didn't get to finish our clipboard search but the time in the chocolate experience room was fantastic and one of our bears even made it all the way home in my carry on-the others were sacrificed for breakfast and snacks!! Natalia rates this as the top thing we did in Dublin, followed by the Zoo and the National Leprechaun Museum :)

“Good but they promised more chocolate than they gave us”
Reviewed February 28, 2014 via mobile

The tour was good. First of all we saw the short movie at the end of the history of butlers chocolate sounded like a add. The timeline was a little crap because nothing much happened like you could just tick everything they don't check! When we saw the factory there was no falt in it. Making the bears were great as well so over all with all the tasters was a four star delivery.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent visit to our Butlers Chocolate Experience. We are delighted that overall you enjoyed your experience with us, especially the chocolate samples and the decoration of the chocolate bear. Our movie also has some very enjoyable images and information we feel and we use this opportunity to tell our visitors about the long and interesting history of our company. The sheets we give our visitors at the self guided museum section of the tour are a fun and interesting means to lead visitors around the museum in a natural way and we are dissapointed to hear that this was not one of the highlights of your visit. We very much appreciate your feedback and are always looking at ways to improve our visitor experience. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future.

“Great fun for all!”
Reviewed February 16, 2014 via mobile

We visited on a Saturday when there was nothing being produced in the factory but there were plenty of videos and great commentary from our guide explaining what goes on down on the factory floor. There were little samples along the way and at the end you get to decorate and take home your own chocolate bear. Great fun for a couple of hours!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review of your recent visit to our Butlers Chocolate Experience. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit and had so much fun. Although Saturdays do have limited activities in the factory/production area of the tour there is still plenty of information and lots to see and as you found it doesn't impact greatly on the overall enjoyment of the experience. We do hope to welcome you back again to our facility in the future and thank you again for taking the time to write your review.

“Exceptional Tour Guide!”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

I visited the Saturday after the New Year with my friend and I have to say I wasn't particularly looking forward to it! I was even less impressed when we had to put hair nets on and over coats when the main factory was closed. Having said that when the tour started the opening video was interesting about the history of chocolate and the walk around the factory balcony was ok as well. Our tour guide "Elaine" was the highlight for me she made it interesting and enthusiastic with the bits she had to say and was very perlite and sociable. She was also very interactive with the children on the tour which will have made their days. The bear painting was good and the free chocolates were very nice. Overall is was good entertainment for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

“Unbelievably expensive for what you get”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

What a waste of time/money.
Went between Xmas and new year - the factory was basically closed, with only a single worker on the floor. The tour guide was utterly painful to listen to and completely unengaging.
Kids (6 and 4) were BORED by the end of it - chocolate samples were appreciated, but given the cost of the tour, its the least you can expect. Even getting to the place was difficult, without any signposts on the road etc. Would definitely NOT recommend...
