“Handy Dublin Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2007

Have just returned from 3 night stay at the Harding, we were a party of eight - 4 couples, we all found the hotel ideal, good location, clean, good breakfast, were a little surprised that only a couple of staff were actually Irish - the rest were Turkish, but all were very friendly and helpful, would use this hotel again if we returned. Would suggest to other visitors that maybe 3 nights starting on Sunday night would be better as Dublin is manic Friday & Saturday nights and it was very difficult to get in at any restaurants, City bus tour was very good and entertaining.

I stayed at this hotel with 7 friends for my hen do in October 2006. This hotel is in a fabulous location, very central and convenient. The rooms are a decent size, so too are the bathrooms, although the bathroom are very basic and dull looking. The down sides were that the hotel is located opposite a church, where the bells ring on the hour, every hour, right through the night - which can disrupt beauty sleep! Also, there tended to be a slight smell of urine in the hallways, which wasn't very pleasent!
All-in-all, we found the hotel to be extremely good value for a city centre hotel and would recommend as a base to explore the lovely city of Dublin!

myself and three friends have just returned from a three night stay at the harding hotel, the first room I was given was not clean, the , curtains did not fit the window and were hanging off the rail and the bathroom had a really unpleasant smell, The room was at the front of the hotel and due to the incessant traffic noise I asked for another room. Reception staff were initially very unwilling to help but did eventually allocate another room which although a little cleaner still had a bathroom which smelled most unpleasant. Breakfast was ok, service good but overall the hotel is in need of a good refurbishment and clean, would not stay there if visiting Dublin again.

  • Liked — near nightlife, on tour bus route, near shopping areas
  • Disliked — the shabby appearance of the rooms and the smell from the bathroom

our family had 3 rooms in this hotel-very close to the major tourist attractions, good showers, tea facilities, a safe in reception, no stairs-staff helpful, good access to breakfast and also restaurant/bar if you do not want to go out.

  • Liked — convenient to tourist places, price
  • Disliked — church bells

Three adults stayed at the Harding Hotel late September 2006. The location is very good for walking to the Guinness Storehouse and all the places we visited. The room was clean but tiny. We got 3 twin sized beds. The room was fine. The staff at the front desk were very helpful with giving us directions and marking their maps for us (we'd never been to Ireland before). The breakfast was very nice. They had hot menu items as well as a continental breakfast. We could choose anything we wanted included in the room price. The only thing that was bothersome for us was that it is right next to the Christchurch Cathedral, and the church bells rang all the time. It's annoying if you're not used to it all night long.
One thing that upset me was that just days before we left for our trip we were informed by the hotel that they had overbooked and changed us to another hotel. The hotel they changed us to did not have good reviews and was farther walking distance to the places we were going! I replied to them begging them NOT to change us, and they immediately gave us our reservations back, so we were very thankful. We felt that since we had booked the Harding Hotel 7 months before, we should be able to keep our room, which we were able to. (thanks!)

Excellent budget hotel in a perfect location. The room was very large (one double bed, single bed and a sofa bed) just for the two of us, over looking Christchurch. Unlimited hot water for the shower! The cofffee making facilities were highly appreciated.
The breakfast was lovely, taken in the bistro attached to the hotel, all included in the price of £125 for two nights.
All in all, an excellent centrally located hotel in the heart of Dublin!

Cute hotel in the center of Dublin, not far from Temple Bar. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but answered all of our questions. The room was small but nice. There were 4 of us in the room, but we all fit. We spent most of our time out exploring Dublin anyways. There was a pub downstairs that was good. A full Irish breakfast was served each morning included with the room price. I would recommend this hotel - it's great for the price.
