“great choice in Dublin, central to everything, cant fault”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 6, 2010

This is the hotel I always stay in when I come to Dublin. The hotel is in a great location right in the heart of the temple bar, yet away from the noise of the night life. I would say though pick one of the higher floors if you can, as on the lower floors you will hear the bells from the nearby church. The staff are friendly without been in your face, they have a great breakfast available until 12 noon each day. The hotel also boasts a fine bar in the basement with nightly music. The room are perfect, nice and comfortable with a great shower, bigger than the rooms in the nearby jurys inn, and perfectly clean. So in closing if coming to Dublin for the nighlife or a few days touring this is the perfect choice great valuie at around 60 Euro and for a hotel in temple bar you cant beat that, and there is a car park just across the road near Jurys inn, with discounts for hotels guests.

We were greeted by a friendly receptionist who was informative (although she told us the entrance to the bar was down the road- in the rain - when actually you can enter via the hotel). The bar was lovely, quiet while we were there but the barman was very helpful and polite.
Room was comfortable, warm and big enough for our purpose, we had a triple room and didn't trip over each other - the bathroom was fine, but small.

Great location and lovely view of Christchurch from our window... the bell chimes didn't affect us at all, all slept through! Just a few minutes walk from Temple Bar and not very far from the other highlights of this beautiful city. Would definitely stay there again and have recomended it to friends already! Although there are "no frills" as such, it does what it says on the tin... comfortable and convienient... plus good price!

I stayed here for 2 rugby international weekends and enjoyed it very much. It's got a great location for all the lively pubs / clubs in Temple Bar, but a short walk also gets you to where the locals hang out and a more authentic Dublin atmosphere.
Darky Kellyes bar , next door, is good on a Saturday with a band playing a lot of blues, pop, 80s stuff which gets people dancing. Actually saw the head barman carrying a drunk Norwegian guy out of the bar and he put him to bed in the hotel which I thought was good customer service. Also George the main door-man is good value even though all sorts of women claim to be his wife every night!! There are also a lot of hobbitts who drink there on a Saturday night ,along with probably the most beautiful tall blond girl I have eve seen who goes there dancing with her Mum. Yes it's all very odd but it's a Saturday night in Dublin.
It was cold when I was there, but I reckon if you were in the hotel in the summer and had to have windows open it would be noisy, as there are so many clubs and bars nearby. Also the church across the road's bells keep ringing, not what you need with a hangover.
What you do need with a hang over is a great breakfast and this hotel's breakfast is excellent, particularly liked the soda bread.
If you're in Dublin for the craic, you couldn't pick a better hotel. If you're there for a quiet weekend sightseeing it may not be what you want.
I'll be there next year for the England and France Internationals.

When I go to Dublin this hotel is always at the top of my list. The location is very convenient as it is a short walk to the restaurants. I can't fault the rooms, service or price and would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed here March 10-13, paid approx 180 Euro for a single. Got room # 403, oddly shaped with no view, except with an alley view, but perfectly serviceable. Good sized by European standards. Front desk clerks were polite but not overly friendly. They did not let me check in early (i got in about noon time), so i had a look at Christchurch, which you could literally throw a baseball and hit it across the street. However, they did let me put my in a luggage in a locked room out back until 2:00pm. Pub below had karaoke Friday nite, and was still "hearable" even on the 4th floor, but i am a solid sleeper, so it didnt keep me up! (recommend earplugs otherwise). Did not eat at restaurant onsite, went down the street to Cow's Lane to "Queen of Tarts." Hotel very convenient to Airlink drop off point (maybe 100 yards up the hill), and also is in between 2 of the (green) Hop On/Hop Off stops. Also had a small half fridge in the room, and a water pot with instant coffee/sugar/creamer.

my family had stayed at the hotel and recommended it to myself and my wife.we found the hotel to
be very clean, warm and comfortable ,with room very nice and clean and could not fault it at all.it is in a fabulous location with temple bar right on your doorstep, grafton street only minutes away by foot and o connell street only 10 mins walk.the hotel gives a huge discount on a very secure nearby car park which we availed.the hotel serves a great pint of guinness at a reasonable price,in a comfortable lounge in a very pleasant atmosphere.the staff were friendly and courtous, especially George on the door .al in all it was a very enjoyable stay, infact it was our highlight to our holiday as we had just returned home from abroad.will make it my business to stay in Dublin overnight again just to sample the great friendly atmosphere of the hotel ,and to enjoy that pint of Guinness.

Booked this hotel after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor & we weren't dissapointed. The hotel is excellent for the price. Is clean & warm & only a few minutes walk from the bars of Temple Bar.
We stayed in room 507 - we booked a double but the room infact was a family room with an extra bed. We were at the back of the hotel but on my first night there I did have a disturbed sleep. Think the room overlooked the smoking area of the bar below but it was hard to tell as couldn't see down from the roof eves. Also could hear the church bells. But the following night I slept like a baby so I should have just had more Guinesses the previous night!
The hotel staff were really helpful - we asked at reception for an extra pillow to be taken to the room on our way out. When we got back it wasn't there so my boyfriend rang down to reception. The pillow arrived within 1 minute with an apology.
Shower was also good, very powerful & hot - previous reviews ARE correct that there is no cubicle as such but we never had problems with water escaping from the shower tray - just make sure you put the shower curtain around fully!
Would definatley go back
